I think you need more horizontals
Basically think of gameplay as a combination of
Vertical/Horizontal * Open/Tight
And have them be spaced out in your level
It shouldnt be open, vertical -> tight vertical but instead a vertical into a horizontal section.
Theres always exceptions and nothing is strictly wrong but id say there most of the time you can improve on the map youve built

Its better to have that as the connection between section x and y that have different kinds of gameplay

I just think there isnt much gameplay that youd get solely from diagonals / that is easier to get from diagonals
