I booted up the game (this is my first time playing) on Online mode, friends only. In the lobby with the treehouse, I tried inviting through the steam in-game menu, with the invite code, and through IP/Port. For the steam menu and the code, it would continuously say 'Game in progress' for my friend even after restarting the game. Through IP and port, it would constantly say 'Loading' Any ideas?

Also, what do you mean through "IP and port"?
Did you get to host the game like normal, just pressing "play online" and host game?
By that I meant the manual host option
And yes I hosted the game like normal. Just my friend couldnt join

I have since tried it with another friend and it seems to be working. Must have been something temporary, but if it pops up again I will follow through

You can also try switching to the Steam beta branch "previousversion"
- To do this, right-click Ultimate Chicken Horse in the Steam Library. Go to properties, open the "Betas" tab and select "previousversion" from the dropdown menu.
- Restart your Steam if the game doesn't update automatically.
- Once you do that, please let us know if this fixes your online issues.
Sorry to bother @prime oak and @spring rapids again, but I was wondering if you were able to play online by using the Steam beta branch?
Are you still experiencing problems playing online?
I was able to prevent the problem by having another friend host the server. I haven't yet had the chance to test out the beta branch solution

Temporary Solution
If you're hosting the lobby, please restart your game after playing a match. This should fix the issue.
If you're joining a friend's game, make sure your friend restarts their game after playing a match and then try joining then. That should resolve it.
The "game in progress" bug occurs after you've played a match online, and is resolved by restarting your game.
