Does it just get charged to the server owner for community servers too? Or is there any options for operating like a community donation fund?

from what I understand, it takes 3 boosts from the pool to enable that feature. So if you unlock server level 2 at 7 boosts, and you want server level 2 as well as a tag, you need 10 boosts
Please note I'm not suggesting anyone boost for this. I'm just explaining my understanding of the system. I don't personally see much if any value in server tags.
If we had well over the amount of boosts required for max server level then it might make sense to dump some on the tag so they don't "go to waste", but otherwise it I don't personally think it matters
for example, C# has 30 boosts. Max server level is 14. So like, they might as well at that point

Ok, so it looks like @warm pewter is right. I can disable "Level 2" and enable the tag instead.
I'm not sure that's worth it, but we have not filled the emoji/sound/sticker slots and we have not used the video or audio streaming in a few years.
So maybe the tag is better 😉

I got nitro for this.. Seemed like a good excuse to boost this server and get rid of the annoying ads.

Yeah, the main feature in nitro, as far as I'm concerned (apart from boosting servers) is being able to use the custom emoji & sounds from all the servers you're in ... anywhere.

it is not needed for the tag no, the tag is already "paid for" in boosts
