I use 2 packs of 9's for my guitar. I take the B string out of the second pack and throw it on my high E,
42
32
24w
16
11
11
Its very wasteful and leaves me witha bunch of extra strings. Is there any way to fix this? like can I buy an extra pack of just 11s for cheap? I'm not sure about using straight 11's as a pack because I like the feel of the rest of the strings.

not really, what your doing is super unconventional so unless you order custom pack from like string-joy or something there isn't much you can do.
This is the dumbest shit I read today ... But the day is not yes over
And 42 bottom ? Y so weak ?
either start playing on 11-48s or get custom sets from stringjoy
There r some companies that just sell packs of specific strings like a 5 pack of high e strings is most common but some do sell b string
a lot of people do this mixing thing
but the combination really is dumb
ive seen 11-49 sometimes but the same guage twice is hilarious
I did some weird setups as well but never did it cross my mind to do 2 same Guage strings
And that comes from someone who put an 8 string set on a 6 string just for shits and giggles
i like how the b string feels and the amount im able bend it and i like a thicker high E
9's break real quick for me
dont you have intonation problems by having the same gauge twice
nope
i mean thats the whole reason to go thicker the lower the string in the first place
more tension put on it
i imagine the b string is way more prone to breakage
ive had the 9's break more than the 11s
this is the opposite of what you said
this is saying the 11s break more
i dont mean to sound rude btw
yea no worries but i said the b string is more prone to breakage if you have 9s instead of 11s
oh mb i forgot your initial post
i thought it was 9 9 for the thinnest strings
not 11 11
nonoo
well yeah i guess the high e would be less prone then

if the b string was a 9 it would break here
i have a les paul my low e is already heavy enough i dont play chugging metal anyway
On an LP. scale ? Sounds way too loose to me
What do you play then ?
Fair enough...is still get a 46 or 48 bottom on a Gibson scale length I think
theres a cl ip of how it sounds
my mic is prolly rlly loud so id turn it down
shiit it sounds like crap lemme plug my amp into my laptop instead
ignore my pajamas too lmao
random weird noodling so u can hear
its not loose imo when im playing idk
im notbeing SRV or anything and throwing 14s on there
lmao
also Dcs my beloved 🥀
