#Ibanez S Series S520 or Ibanez Standard RG470

One of my guitars is the S521 - MOL, and I can highly recommend that. Plays fantastically well, super-comfortable, lightweight, balanced feel, and looks great as well.
The only negative I could say is that the Pickups aren't the greatest, but still good enough for daily playing. I've changed the pickups for the seymour duncan jb/59 and now it's one of my most-played guitars.
The 521 doesn't have a Trem, so I can't comment on that, but everything else seems to be the same.
I also have the S521 and I love it. Got it brand new for $365 after tax. I asked Sweetwater if they could discount it for me. (The red one in back)
@modern widget Youโd like this one.
Nice one! You got a very good deal on a beautiful guitar! ๐
i want a double trem bridge if thats what u call it tho
do u have experience w those types of bridges
a double locking trem
like have u ever used a guitar w a trem
cuz guitars w double locking trems that are floating are pretty finnicky
what music do you play
and do u change tunings often
nah
this is gonna be my first time w those
the edge zero ii has a stabilizer (from what i heard)
i dont change tunings much
sometimes drop d
sometimes standard
On the rg470 it doesnt
it doesnt?
usually itll say Edge Zero II with ZPS
i have one too
it doenst have a stabilizer
it might not be a good first then
like especially if u dont know how to use trems at all
I highly suggest you get something with a normal 2 point tremolo to get used to it
and know how to set it up
because you will HATE the floyd if u dont
jem jr ๐ฅ
no
chinese ahh trem
the floyds on those suck
๐ญ
yeah
I mean if u wanna jump into floating trems go for it
but are u ready to adjust the springs on the back constantly everytime u restring or change tunings back and forth
not only that
when u tune one string, all the strings go out of tune
so u have to keep going and going and going
til they even out
not only that u have to unlock the nut ๐ญ
yes
to even tune
oh
thats easy
just
stretch the strings w ur hands until they stop going out of tune when u bend them
what if i hold the guitar by the trem ๐ค
gg
pull them up?
keep bending?
just look up how to stretch strings
but
yeah
floating trems are finnicky
tuning to drop D will probably take like 10 or 15 minutes
what if i tune to drop c
30 mins
idk it depends on the person
but its very finnicky
also is it possible to tune one string to drop d while maintaining the tension
no
of the other strinfs
you have to unlock the nut
and then once u drop D
all the strings go out of tune
and u have to balance it out while also adjustnig the springs on the back
because when u tune it down
the bridge will tilt down
because theres more tension on the springs
is it easy to balance it
so u have to loosen the springs
somewhat but it can get very annoying if ur switching
i HIGHLY recommend
just getting a normal non floating 2 point trem
because
u can literally just
drop d in seconds
im back
hi back
i wanna do those cool stuff on the double trem
yeah the only drawback is
the maintenance
and since u have no experience at all
not even with a normal trem
then im not sure
i have a normal trem
is it possible to tune drop d while the other 5 ars standard
will it take a while
yes
all up to you
i mean
if u dont like it u can always refund it anyway
how long if im new to a floating trem
i alr did in advance hehehe
gotta prepare mentally and physically
some people said they took an hour to tune
What if one of the strings break
all strings out of tune
no LMAO
I do not :(
Oh I thought you meant an S version. Yes I do have an RG652AHM
