#Cab for orange super crush

Ur getting a 100w head what do u want out of a cab either way it is going to be a half stack it just depends if u get a 212 or a 412 cab
The super crush is solid state so it can do some lower volumes but it can get loud real quick
Im not really sure to be honest this is my first head and cab combo ever. Should I not be using anything too small with an 100w head?
So the good news is u decided on a solid state head so it cares a lot less about what cab u put it on but when using a head u have to match the ohms to the cab and make sure the cab can handle the output of the amp ig u want smaller than a half stack u should just get a combo amp
U can find 100w 212 cabs easily but if u want smaller than that just get a combo amp even if it is a 100w combo
U don’t want a cab with a lower power than the head bc it can damage the speakers
A 212 and a 412 can be equally as loud a 412 usually is about 3 db louder than a 212 in my experience
U can use a half stack at a volume of around 100db and it works pretty well u can go louder and quieter but 90-100 seems to work well on the lower end
For reference that is somewhere between a hair drier and lawn mower in terms of volume
Wow this kinda all makes sense now
So if an amp is above 100w its in the green? Or should I be taking speaker size into more consideration
On a 100w amp u will find either 12 or 15 inch speakers most of the time it will be 12 that’s what the 12 in 212 and 412 are. The 4 and 2 are the number of speakers in the cab
It isn’t about speaker size as much as it is about matching ohms (more so a tube amp thing) and speaker vs amp output
Like u can run a 160w cab on a 100w amp head no problem but a 120w amp head on a 50w cab will damage the speakers if u don’t stay on low settings
