I don't currently have the choice to get my first guitar from a guitar store or have it sorted through a professional as I'm living in the middle east atm. My options are a Squier Stratocaster, Yamaha EG 112C or Ibanez GRG121DX - all found used on facebook marketplace. I've been told by one person on here that I should pick between the Yamaha or Ibanez but I need a full opinion.

I'm also concerned if heat will be an issue since the temperature can reach up to 48 Celsius, but I've heard that's mainly a concern on acoustic and not electric. Do I need to worry about maintenance and is there anything I should know before purchasing my first guitar?

Electrics can still be affected by climate although not nearly as much as acoustics. The strings can rust quicker if it is humid where u live

What country are you from

Well I'm from Australia but living in Iraq atm. Mostly due to family and other things that I won't get into. I'm not really worried about humidity as the climate's really dry out here

It's more so just the heat

the yamaha and grg are close enough quality levels that i’d just choose the one that looks cooler to me

id vouch for the ibanez. Just a solid choice

#

you dont have the hassle with a floating bridge and can just tune and get playing

#

also on the temperature: its a problem if the temperature changes a lot. The wood will expand and likely deform a bit, but it should stay that way. Same for humidity

definitely leaning more towards the ibanez after a little more research. looks better imo since it's all black too

i do want to get an interface to connect it to fl. i saw someone on here recommend an inexpensive one called joyo momomix cab but i don't know how important an interface's quality is and if something of that price is worth it

it'll deform a bit yes, but that isnt necessarily bad, all wood does that, its still a "living" material if you so will

#

you want to keep it not TOO dry tho, cause that can lead to cracks forming. so ideally if you dont use it, put it in a gig bag with a humidor (kinda like those silica packets, but they keep moisture at a certain level)
which exact one you need, idk

guess i'll need to look into a humidifier or some alternative
