#Help with dimebag tone

literally thats perfect
😭
maybe to me (though my ear is somewhat untrained) its a little too bright but thats about it
That’s my problem it’s to bright I want the tone to be just that little bit darker almost
Like a tad chunkier even tho dimebag has a really thin tone
Could just be that it’s a helix bc they always sound a bit off
roll off on the tone knob a bit maybe
Can’t believe I didn’t think of that
no he doesnt
not in real life
@exotic crag what do u think
it needs a decent bit of work but its pretty decent, i also agree dimes tone is NOT thin
seen him so many times irl and its so different for one and two its heavy and crushing, not thin like youd think
Alr
The basic tone is ok and actually close I think - you just kinda need to tame it a bit.
The biggest issue to me is the bass - which u can fix by a simple low cut - a bit push at the root note and a bit away on the lows after that. Then you still have to much low mids for that CG tone - and some anyoing frequencys which also coud be due to the bad recording. The anoying pinch harmonics is a playing issue - nothing to fix there on the sound board rly.
simple and short example
U hear A/B/A - so orig. / edit / orig. for comparrison. Compare it to the recording
Thats basicly a low cut + tamed mids + a high shelf but also a high cut + and the remove of 4 anoying frequencys, biggest issue is 2500hz imo. Might be abit over the top but I hate mixing guitars without drums and bass anyway - shoud just show direction.
Do you have the presence knob on your amp?
I would also say go to your cab and mess around with the microphone position and distance
Also what amp and cab are you using?
I’m using a helix LT currently
I mean what amp and cab within the helix
Add a eq pedal
A physical EQ pedal for like 30 or 40 bucks is all you need from there
show me your amp setting for that video pls 🙏
I can tmrw
Amp settings are irrelevant unless you have the same amp as that person
I know someone said it’s irrelevant, but 10 treble 8 bass and basically no mids is my tone and it gets close
thx <33
dude you sound amazing, gj
Dimebag tone is all about solid state gain and lots of treble on a passive hb. If you can find a mode for a Randall solid state head and then scoop the ish out of the eq then you’re probably there
My tone was so shit back then huh
