Shoegaze pedals recommendation for beginners (or newcomer idk)

So uhh i got a job (yayy!) so I have some money to buy some guitar stuff.. i want to start playing shoegaze.. can some give me some starter pedals for me to waste my money on.. thank you 😊

Get a cheap modeler ... You'll only have to waste your money once and can make all the tones you want

Something like the Nux mg30 or Mooer ge250

Unironically, get a rat because it’s so damn versatile

The specific one I recommend is the Mosky King Rat

Because it’s $40 and it operates like 4 different rats

And get a decent reverb

Like a mvave mini universe

Which is like $45

Yes.. I accidentally use 9v positive.. after I noticed it, i immediately use the negative one

But it still doesn't work

There's no burnt smell tho

So that is a good sign

I would test that power supply with a different pedal

Or get another power supply and test it on that same pedal

Modern shoegaze uses edge of breakup sounds a lot more so if ur into that I'd reccomend bd-2 since it's better with versatility

But the bd-2 can get fizzy at higher gain

If u can try playing a ton of different overdrives and distortions and find out what you like
