#Looking for a new amp

are you using the tone studio @steep peak
Yea ive gone it through and the high gain distortion tones just dont cut it
try mine before you move on
one sec
i use it for pretty much everything high gain
@steep peak
Ill update in a few minutes
let me know how it is
i really like using it
you can stick a GEQ on basically any tone with a noise gate/high gain and it sounds great
didnt like it no offense
the katana just doesnt have that chuggy sound that makes the room shake
What’s your budget
What’s your reference sound (what toan™️ do you want)
And why is the boss katana not able to hit that sound?
Simple , get some high gain 3 channel 100w amp and a 4x12 ... That will shake the room and the house ... That'll be 4K please
So true lmaooo
And then come to the conclusion it's not the guitar sound that usually rocks the room in a mix, but the bass and drums
Imo, more the bass rather than the drums
Bass can be sustained and the shaking can actually happen
Drums are just this for a moment at a time
I dont have a specific tone in mind. I can get a really good distortion but it doesnt give that bassy heavy chug sound when palm muted. ”just turn up the bass bro” is not the answer it doesnt work so thats kind of the reason im upgrading
my budjet is under 350€ so im looking for ones used
Like… drop a youtube video as a reference
Because it straight up could just be that the tone you’re looking for isn’t even an electric guitar
bro im not this new to this, i have tested other amps that do have the sound i want, the katana doesnt have that, but ill send a video anyway ig
“i have tested other amps that do have the sound that i want” okay so buy one of those lol
no need to get offended. some of those amps might not have all the features i want or need so theres no point in buying one. so im looking for an amp that packs a ton off stuff while still actually sounding good. i apologize if i came off as rude
noones getting offended
im just confused as to why you’re still looking for an amp, if youve found multiple you like
https://youtu.be/z_nFVnDuQJ8?si=H70SFIQbvGA5voTt at 10:00 you can hear alexis tone alone really nice, it sounds huge, and palm muted notes are loud, crisp and clear, but this is besides the point

I filmed this in March 2001, Roope and Alexi were promoting their signature Jackson in Keskusmusiikki music store, Lahti, Finland. They played songs from Waltari, Children Of Bodom, Sinergy, Stone and Die Krupps.

i dunno whats wrong with your katana but mine sounds exactly like that lol
with the patch i sent
Because many many amps can do the sound im looking for, just not the katana. some of them are too expensive for me and arent available used. or they dont pack enough features.
sounds like you gotta start saving or dial in the katana better tbh
the problem is here, is my ability to explain what i dislike about the katana and what it cant reach.
it lacks that tight bass heavy punch with palm mutes. the only way to reach that is by dialing in a shit ton or dialing it so that you compromise making the sound and feel completely unnatural
enough about the katana. if someone could help me with the new amp thing, feel free to do so!
Look I'm not keen on my Katana either but...use the Brown amp with the Contour on 2 and shift the frequency up to +20. Bass on 60-70 and the rest around 40. Give that a whirl.
The contour can really do a decent job of fixing the out of the box issues with the Katana
Good luck finding much decent under your budget
get a small modeler and something like a Mooer babybomb and run it into a 2x12 or 4x12
what is your budget ? ... might be a good starting point
Actually I have heard that running the Katana into a decent cab makes A HUGE difference
The speaker sucks from factory
I think the Artist speaker is fine
you could hook up the katana into a frfr like a headrush 112 or something.
It does. I have mine hooked into a jet city cab and a headrush fr12. Its loud and sounds good. Im alos not using the katana preamp though, Im using the katana poweramp for my fractal
Have you used the preamp as well though?
yea, just dont like the sound I get out of it. It does get very loud though with an external speaker setup
Im also most probably buy an old Tech 21 Trademark 60w from my local music school because theyre upgrading their equipment. itll most probably be under 200€. and i could buy a nano cortex for 400€. that would be the better option for long term and more capable than the line 6 with the floorboard
I have the money but i just dont like spending it
the line 6 comes with a Line 6 Flextone II, Line 6 Floor Board, and an LTD M-50, for under 250€. i could sell the pieces individually and get profit, and then buy the tech 21 + nano cortex
It does that for me
Boost on top of brown
Yea ive messed with everything, its not good enough for me. end of story
we know... so ,.. what;s your budget ?
