#I been struggling on the ultimate question: buy a bass or electric guitar? (I can only buy one)

I feel like you can still achieve rhythm and groove on an electric, and do shredding and solos more, rather than vice versa (solos and shredding just doesn't go that hard on bass as on guitar) Focusing on playing rhythm guitar and specific genres focused on groove, like groove metal will probs satisfy you. I am however a guitarist so maybe I'm a little biased. I'm sure others will drop their opinion too
Yeah that’s true. I will take your thought to consideration though because you’re making some good points though
Update guys: I finally decided on electric guitar
If you can find both second hand, can them for the price of just one brand new one
How much are you looking to spend?
I'm guessing like £150-200?
Yeah I plan on spending around 200 usd (around £175)
On Yamaha Pacifica
Electric
Yeah
if you can try find one second hand can probably get it half price
both of mine are second hand
How much we’re they
had to fix the middle pickup on the 012 but was still half price cheaper than getting it brand new
I got a 112v with a shitty marshall amp and some other bits and bobs for £40
the 112v is literally brand new
its as if they took it out the box and left it to gather dust
The one at my local music store is 200 and I’m willing to buy that
the 012 was my first guitar but I paid £70 for it
and then another £25 to fix the middle pickup
love the dude at my local store he changed it for free
and also polished the fretboard
Yeah I love music store people
it depends tbh
the chain ones are shit
like pmt here
Yeah
Mine is local and they have been in business since 1988. Have dealers with fender and other big names. They allow me to touch and play instruments before buying
Awesome people
I think most shops do
They even offered me free picks
Yeah
I know 012 is the cheapest
and a splittable humbucker
