#How do I get the rock chord tone
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I feel like monkey wrench would’ve been a better example but like the rhythm distorted chords i can’t get to sound tonally clean either too twangy or “foggy”
you mean Daves playing or the other rhythm tone ?
and what kind of amp you have ?
I mean just in general that kind of controlled distorted chord sound
Catalyst cx something they are all the same different number means bigger
Does it have a Marshal kind of amp ?
That with an overdrive and not too much gain will get you close I think
Yeah but it’s tiny 10 watt doesn’t even have treble/mids/bass knobs
I have Marshall sounding presets on my amp though
On the catalyst you mean ?
Yeah
I don;t know the catalyst but I guess there are presets for foo-fighters kind of sounds ... maybe try to find a YT video on it ?
Lets take a look and see how close I can get to recreating the guitar tone from the Foo Fighters' debut album!

The amp is simply mic’d with 1 S...
