#What modeler

Neither
I feel the headrush stuff just lacks something, also doesn't have a decent PC editor
HX stomp is okay but quite limited in DSP
Helix does however come with great FX and quite a lot of good high gain amp models
Which is fine cause don’t plan to run any crazy shit
fair enough ... i do like that they have models of actual amps instead of generic ones
i think I will check out the Hotone stuff when I get the chance ... I like how their stuff looks and the UI
Heard many good things about the Headrush. Also, you get a Volume/Wah pedal with it, if that's something you might use.
I'm pretty sure Orphans Uprising has one, so you can ask him for more details and his experience with this unit.
HX Stomp is a great unit and sounds fantastic, but without Volume/Wah Pedal. OTOH, it's very compact, so that's a huge plus for gigs.
Don't know if this is still an issue, but I remember when it came out, the clean tones weren't that great. All can be tweaked, of course....
You can't really go wrong with either, tbh.
i heard the prime's desktop editing is via a web-interface instead of an app ... it does have cloning though I think
@pine nest there's also the Amero Stomp 3 ... which is comparable with the HX Stomp, just cheaper and imho way nicer in the UI department and I think they added capturing to it recently via FW update
Yep, that is correct.
the cloning is apprently quite good as well.
I was actually watching a comparison video from Andertons yesterday and the flex prime didn't really do it ... But then again, it was shot out against the QC and the Kemper
HX stomp outta those two.
Not really a fair competition there, heheh.
What were their reasons?
Have to admit, that Kemper Profiler is pretty sexy looking.
purely based on the sound of the capture
With handy portable pedals that purport to capture the sound of a valve amp now popping up here there and everywhere, it's time to find out which ones can truly capture the magic of a valve amplifier, and which are a pale imitation! | https://tinyurl.com/24uq9m22
Thanks to Paul from @TheStudioRats for joining us on this shootout! Check out his ...
@dense moth 🙏
but yeah...the whole capture this is neat ... if you have something to capture
True. But I think there's a way to import captures from other people (maybe??).
Yes
but most non-capturing modelers have tone-clouds too
just not with captures ... more presets
in the pricerange of the HX Stomp you could go for the Nano Cortex too
also has the cloud option
No nano sucks imo
Ampero Stomp II has capture features too now, since the last FW upgrade
that's also my gripe with the HX Stomp @pine nest ... last update is almost a year ago ...and there will probably be fewer coming in the future
I guess
Honestly might get the helix
Do you already have an existing pedalboard + amp?
HX Stomp is one of the best small footprint additions to most rigs like that, arguably
You also get Helix Native discount with a new HX Stomp, if you're into reamping and recording with a VST. Super super convenient
Oh, bet lol
I have pedals but no pedal board I don’t use them
I have a katana but it’s meh
Really up to you then. Modelers are so similar nowadays in what they can achieve tone wise, so footprint/size and other variables probably become next most important
Helix Native is a banger product, if you care for recording at all
Yeah
I thought you got it with helix products?
Should be a big discount now iirc
