If you're curious why it's likely the cable, they are the one thing that moves a lot and can wear out to the point that it isn't shielded from external noise anymore
Otherwise, the amp is behaving normally for a frontman 10G ya
Just don't turn up the volume all the way, or any of the controls all the way, should still sound fine

Any decent cable is worth trying (just to try a fresh one) but if you want a nice one I recommend braided cables for sure
Ya could be grounding in the guitar but I think since u plugged it in without the guitar and it made noise, maybe it’s the cable
