Hello,
I'm for long eyeing getting a Fender to fulfill my dream of owning a Fender, after 16 years of playing various cheap guitars I wonder about buying this one, but it's not exactly cheap so I wonder, should I really consider it? Are there traps involved? I tried one in a local music store and it felt fantastic, but sounded average, but then again it was on some weird digital amp... What to do?
#Should I buy a Fender Stratocaster Player II? With maple fingerboard...

Nah
My advice don’t dream about owning a BRAND of guitar. Dream about a certain guitar
😦 yeah makes sense
Also yeah the Player II is not that great
the fender player II is a good guitar imo, is better than the player I and it's close than ever to an american version... If you compare it to 2,- 3 thounsad dollar guitar of course it wouln't compare, but it's good for what is advertised for
if you want you can buy a squier i own one and they are a rebranded fender standard
you mean fender standard is rebranded squier..right?
I can attest that player II is on par with american but with an amazing price. If you go to reverb you can easily get a mint one for ~6-700. I actually ordered a used one but the shop sent me a new one for the same $200 off price since the used one had already sold
that's nice man, enjoy it
no.....
I agree with this, the Player II feels pretty good and arguably close to an authentic american made
huge improvement in the second iteration, idk about any quality variations, but was pretty good to me
please explain your thought process here, Fender Standard (in its current iteration) came out this year. it’s coming out of the same factory as the Squiers
not remotely true, but sure
Honestly, saying squier is just a rebranded fender standard is a bit of a stretch. Squier is a completely separate line designed for a more budget friendly option. It’s like calling a cheaper lookalike watch the similar Rolex just because it looks similar. Sure, they share some features, but the quality, materials, and craftsmanship are on a whole different level.
I have an player plus and i like it a lot the neck is so good.
squier is owned by fender meaning they are brothers in a certian way the share the same pickups same build quality and tremolo system is the same and ive compared it to a real fender strat, gretsch duo jet and a sg they are the same each way around
the only diffrence is price and the name
Yes that is what i said, it is a separate line. However what you said was that it is a rebranded fender standard which is not true
Its just like gibson and epiphone
The Squier Stratocaster is essentially a more budget-friendly version of the iconic Fender Stratocaster.
1 Fender actually owns Squier, so it's just a copy. 1Think of it like a car company making a less expensive model of one of their popular cars. Squiers use the same materials and are made in same factories. they feel and sound as a high-end Fender, they are still a great way to get that classic Strat look and vibe without breaking the bank
should i keep explain my self even more or have i done enough
Squier models were first announced in 1982 whilst the first fender standard was introduced 1987
bro picture it like this
Yea ik squier IS inside Fender but its NOT rebranded fender standard
Fender standard is a completely different guitar
cadillac is there flag ship model
Yes but it doesnt mean it is rebranded 😭🙏
Rebranded means u change the name of the exact same shit to smt different
Fender standard would be closer to a fender player series 😭😭
Bro just go search is fender standard and squier is the same
Bro idfk what u mean by rebrand dawg
what guitars do you own
Prs custom 24, gretsch g5420T-140? I think? And a fender ultra sss
Ultra 1 btw not 2
If we count bass now we can go some more deep shit
Bro how is this link to rebranded fender
BRO
HOW THE FUCK DOES THIS MAKE SENSE
THE THING IS
“IS SQUIER REBRANDED FENDER STANDARD??”
NO
ITS JUST A DIFFERENT LINE
OMFG
BRO
IS SAMSUNG GLAXY S LINE THE SAME AS A LINE???
NOO
HOW DOES SOEMTHING THAT COMES BEFORE BE A REBRAND IF SOMETHING
THINKKK
MG
😭😭🙏🙏
not made in the same factory, or with the same materials.
until like a month ago, Fender was either Mexican, American or Japanese (not including modern player series)
Fender Standard is just Squier with Fender on the headstock. cheaper parts made in a cheese country.
Squier was initially just their Japanese export line, only later did it become just a cheap version of the Fender brand
YES THANK YOU
i own a GRETSCH G2622LH Streamliner Center Block Double-Cut with V-Stoptail
Yea idgaf that doesnt effect the question
A EPIPHONE SG DEMO MODEL
Fender Standard here specifically referring to their new Indonesian line, not just their standard line of products
Even the old standard line, its still not a rebranded
Do u understand this florida guy
Bro im actually gonna lose my mind cuz of this idiot
good u should
not remotely. don’t know how listing his left handed imports is relevant to the conversation
Yea
don’t know if it’s supposed to be a flex or something
then how is it relevant
He is trying to say a squier is a rebranded fender standard
i kindly asked him what guitars he owned
how is it relevant
Yea but then i asked how it is related
and who cares what guitars either of you own
Exactly
fender and squier are not the same. book closed.
Yes thank you 😭🙏
only exception being the very early Japanese Squiers, but that’s irrelevant to this conversation as hes referring to the modern rendition of Squier
Just the normal squier line and the fender standard line. Yea so that bit is irrelevant
I'm just skimming this thread again, but has anyone here bought a Standard Series yet???
Super curious about it lol
