What would be a good upgrade from a Laney Dualtop head

I realistically probably have about a 500 gbp budget, I’m not fully set on upgrading since I’m happy but I feel like my tone could be better; I was thinking of doing a switch to a valve head:

EVH 5150 iconic head (over budget, however I want to try one and if I like it enough I’ll get it)

Maybe a dsl20 but I’m not sure

My main tonal focus is metalcore, if anyone can jump in and help me pick out a head to try irl that would be great

go solidstate or save up for a better tube head

diezel vh micro 250-300$ / soldano mini 250-300$

save up for 5150ico or 6506mini i think in the 700 something range

I have a cab with 7080s in it so I’m looking to upgrade though I also have no idea at all what to change for, I tried v30s with the dual top and the 7080s sounded better with this head

But I do want to switch to valve

I want more volume to play with live, I love how they respond to pedals and overall I think they just sound better since I rely on pedals for my sound a fair bit

And I’ve heard the first hand difference with my board in front of a valve amp and it’s never sounded better

a big place theyll mic your shit anyways

Yeah you’ve got a point honestly, but I’ve heard really good things about the 5150

I’ve used the little lunchbox one and that wasn’t too bad

If you don't need a lot of wattage I'd suggest getting a used PRS MT15 ... They definitely will do the metalcore thing since the circuit is basically a 5150
