Hello i am a total beginner and i've never really picked up a guitar before so due to my limited knowledge i don't really know which amps and electric guitars are good for me.

After searching for quite a bit i found a guitar that's in my price range but my main problem is pairing it with an amplifier.

The guitar i'll probably end up buying is this one:https://www.nakas.gr/el/proionta/mousika-organa/kithares/ilektrikes-kithares/yamaha-yamaha-pacifica-112j-bl-ii-black-ilektriki-kithara_840521/
(if you have any other recommendations for a beginner guitar near this price and are similar please do tell me)

The amps i've seen recommended are: Marshall MG30FX,Fender Mustang LT25,Orange Crush 20RT,BOSS Katana-50 MkII (this one is way out of my price range so probably not this lol),Fender Champion 20 and Harley Benton HB-20R. My budget for an amp is around the 200 euro range, I don't really know which one of these to pick.

I want to know if any of these would be good for metal/rock/grunge whatever of that nature and if their quality is also good (build, sound, etc).

I'm not really looking for anything crazy just something so i can learn how to play the electric guitar and not make me regret my purchase. If you also have any recommendations for different amps please suggest.

hi, i hope this isn’t too late but I would personally go with a used boss katana 50 mk1 or 2.

#

I got a mk1 for 260 canadian and it is way better than all of those amps in your list

#

other than the mk2 obviously

#

the second best option is probably the lt25

#

and as for the orange crush, I had it for around 2 years before upgrading. it has great dirty tones but it’s clean tones are a little “dry” imo

#

but it is pretty loud which is great and it also has built in reverb

#

the best part about the katana is you basically never have to upgrade

#

i mean you will but not to the extent of those smaller amps. you will soon outgrow them

# grand monolith Hello i am a total beginner and i've never really picked up a guitar before so d...

Is your heart set on a physical amp with speaker?
If yes, any of the above recommendations are great.
Pros are:

  • Easy to use
  • Can take it with you to play for friends / band practice
  • don't have to use headphones for practice.

Cons

  • larger size
  • more weight
  • loud, so not ideal for apartments or if you're living together with other people, unless you're playing through headphones, at which point you should just consider a headphone amp instead.

So if you're mainly a bedroom player, another option to consider whether you're beginner or more advanced, is a good headphone amp.
It's truly plug and play and completely location independent. You just plug it into your guitar, plug headphones into the unit, and you can practice guitar anywhere you want: living room on the couch, bedroom, porch, on vacation if you take your guitar with you, etc.

Some good choices are:

  • Fender Mustang Micro Plus.
  • Nux Mighty Plug Pro
  • Boss Katana Go (dicontinued)

I personally have both the Katana go and the Mighty Plug Pro, and find them absolutely brilliant.

They offer lots of amp and cab simulations, You can use custom IRs so they can emulate just about any amp you can think of, they have a plethora of effects, direct recording capability via your computer - so they act like an interface, so you can record to your computer, phone, or tablet easily.
They have a metronome (absolutely essential for beginners), tuner, and drum machine built in, and you can jam along with your favorite tunes / youtube videos via bluetooth.

So if you're mainly a bedroom player, want to save space and don't want to disturb anyone you're living with or next to, you might consider one of those instead. Will save you some money as well. The Mighty Plug Pro is only 100 Euro new, for instance.

from what i am seeing theyre all pretty much near the 300 range

#

so ill probably still settle for the lt25 but currently i am waiting for it to be in stock again

but the idea of the headphone amp is for sure intriguing and i will look into it

#

they're quite cheap too damn

Yes, that's why I keep recommending these things to all players, but especially beginning players since it's pretty much a no-brainer for the money. Around 100 Euro and you have everything you need to get started, with great tones. Even many pros I know use them much more now, since they're just so ridiculously convenient for practing and recording quick ideas which you can then later further develop into songs.
