i have 9-46 daddario xs strings rn but they feel really light i played with thicker and/or heavier strings (im new to guitar idk what im talking about) and it felt way more comfortable. should i get these instead
https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Elixir-19102-OPTIWEB-Coated-Electric-Guitar-Strings-11-49/1T5K my friends keep saying elixir is better and also these ones are higher gauge. idk if that would be as comfortable

0946 to 1149 is a rather big jump
what tunings do you play and what scale length is your guitar
(those 2 combined along with your feel decides the approximate gauge of strings)
Standard tuning mostly
Sometimes I go to f a c g c e
Mostly standard tuning tho
How do I find out?
It’s got 22 frets it that’s what u mean
But yh didn’t know how big of a jump that is idk much about strings
Thanks man appreciate it
scale length is the measurement between the nut and the bridge saddle
you find it on the guitars spec page
fret count doesnt necessarily associate with scale length (even if it does most of the time)
the fact you go higehr means you shouldn't get 11-49
Elixir is better though
just go for Elixir 9-42
Yes, if you're just starting out with guitar, I'd also rather go for the 9-42. Will make learning certain techniques much easier.
ok thanks
