#need advice on hot rails, specifically which ones I should get

unless there's a clear idea with what you specifically want tonally
there's not really like "considered good"
aside from all the available name brand ones that already have reputation
probably going for a crispier, sharper tone
basically a complete 180 of the warm tone a humbucker would provide
then choose one that isn't advertised for metal or something overtly like "this thing is super high output wow metal wow"
right, thanks a lot
any specific brands to recommend maybe?
not really, for the reason mentioned above
kk
Amy particular reason you're wanting rail pickups specifically?
fit some real noisy pickups into a single coil slot
Is it for a strat style guitar?
yes
I'm not sure that a hot rail is ideal for what you're going for, considering that hot rails are built for high output, and typically use ceramic magnets.
I use Seymour Duncan hot rails. They're great if you want an aggressive humbucker style tone but you're not going to get crisp and sharp unless if you coil split it.
You can consider what single sized rails both Seymour Duncan and DiMarzio has to offer at their sites. It doesn't strictly has to be rails though, like Duncan's JB Jr for example that uses pole pieces.
Not all blade/rail style but from my looking around I'd give these a listen for ideas
Seymour Duncan:
Hot stack
JB Jr
Duckbucker
Vintage blade
Dimarzio:
Fast track 1
Satch Track
Cruiser
huge help, thx
