#Is the Fender Mod Shop worth it
43 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
its the quality of an american fender
but to me it isnt worth it
especially with how limited the options are
and the fact warmoth exists
another american guitar brand that lets you spec out guitar bodies, necks, and even pickguards to a lot higher degree than fender
and you can even get a custom kit from them for cheaper than mod shop
If I were in your position, I’d buy a Mexican or American fender and do all of those mod shop mods myself. Almost everything they offer through there except neck and body material can be easily done by anyone with a screwdriver and (for pickups/electronics) a soldering iron
I would want it to be all authentic gender made parts, I also would want humbucker pickups which I don’t think is an option
humbucker is very much an option, also p90, floyd, whatever crazy addition you want. the necks and bodies are fender licensed, so youd still have the headstock shape, just not the made in the factory
Yes I just saw that, under the original strat options it’s not but all the others it is
whats the difference between between “authentic fender made” and “american made and licensed by fender” quality wise tho
just go check out the warmoth site
youll find the level of customization is fat far FAR greater than any mod shop
both on the ‘Stratocaster Replacement Body’
you can’t get humbuckers on the ‘Vintage Strat’ body because they would never fit, neither would any non vintage depth single coils for that matter, the routes are too shallow
Is there a website like this but for les Paul’s
yes, it’s called warmoth
That’s not authentic tho right
no
Is there one with authentic parts
again, i ask u what u gain from “authentic branded parts” when warmoth is a pretty quality option
youre still getting fully a made in america guitar by an american company thats been building guitars since the 70s and for some of the famous guitarists in history
why would you want it to be authentic
authentic doesnt always mean good
if you do your own finish and assembly - Precision guitar kits
a word of advice - dont chase authentic guitars, chase guitars that play well and speak to you
precision guitar kit + gibson decal from etsy, authentic 👍
if you're still contemplating for fender just get a warmoth body + fender neck if you want the branding ig
Yeah
Authentic ≠ the best
To some it might
to gibson fanboys who ate up the “play authentic” marketing campaign
Mhm or someone who just wants a guitar of said brand
but the discussion is about quality / what’s “worth it”, which i interpret as “is my money best spent with this”
Which is definitely not about Gibson or Fender
If anything I’d rather get an old MIJ fender or Fernandes Strat
