Well your only option for a good one is to swap it out

It’s true tho
bruh
I mean a special won’t be as bad as like the ones on the Jackson js
no offense but i AM SO TIRED OF EVERYONE CRAPPING ON EVERY GUITAR I LIKE
i just want a recommondation :D
I LOVE SOME OF THE GUITARS WITH SPECIALS BUT THATS THE ISSUE 😭
Like I love the rrx24 from Jackson but it’s got a special
Yeah should be fine If you plan to replace it it’ll last
hm alr
still looking for some recomendations :D i need to cut down on the price a lil bit
so i can get a multi fx pedal with it
im seein the reviews on it and it doesnt look good D:
What the slxm?

N
Get it if you like it
Not real 1000 btw
still better than a special or jackson licensed btw
Probably but still not that great
again
better than pretty much any trem on any guitar in this price range
and you get stainless steel frets
and grover tuners on the SC
Which means like nothing on a fr
you are the type of person who says that you dont need good tuners if you have a locking nut
Cause you don’t?
damn you are insufferable
having good tuners is still good
locking nut or no
I mean yeah but why bother on a Floyd
you have to tune the guitar eventually
because if the tuners suck ass even if you rarely change tunings or retune it SUCKS
I mean it’s a Floyd if you need to return it’s in the fine tuners
Unless wildly out of tune
retune if you change strings
or drop tune
or change tuning entirely
Ok still not that bad obv not saying having cheap plastic tuners like I have on my first act but
my fernandes had ass tuners
even though i didnt use them often, when i did, it annoyed the shit out of me
My Jackson’s tuners aren’t bad (tho the Floyd is the main bitch)
replaced them for gotoh locking and was happy ever since
thank god for old licensed floyds on korean guitars
Based
brass and steel
holds tune pretty well though i am thinking on changing it for a gotoh
rg450dx
wiat thats sick
i didnt know those sc guitars even had trems
guys i think im gonna get the schecter omen elite 6 fr
it has a bad floyd tho
aw man
you will probably have to replace it in a year
wait so will it hold up for a year?
maybe more maybe less
i only need it for that long before i start modding it
i was thinking it would be sick with a sustainiac pickup and a new floud
i would consider harley benton a better modding platform because they have steel frets, great tuners, already decent floyds that you can just replace the saddles on
nah man
if you want a sustainiac save up for a guitar with one
i am allergic to harley benton tbh
installing it is a massive pain in the ass and will cost a fortune if done by a luthier
and you gotta find one that is willing to do that well
why
my first and only electric is a harley benton and its TERRIBLE
to be fair its like £50
the trem is unusabl
bruh
it breaks the strings if u go down xD
what the fuck did you expect
idk
there are good and great harley bentons
usually the ones that have stainless steel frets are the best
do you like strats or singlecuts more
doesnt that schecter have stainless steel frets
idk ive only ever used a strat shape
wait lemme check
i mean man the schecter looks sick
no
oh
where are you btw
europe?
uk
oh thats great
y
nvm soloking dont offer floyds
bruh thats so sick man ;-;
il watch a review on it
whats wrong with the schecter so i can do a comparison
also if you can wait until 2025 hb are going to release a new line of strats with floyds
cant
any of these are fine then
this one is the best
schecter doesnt have steel frets, has a worse floyd, costs 150 euro more than the guitar max with a softshell case and does not come with neither a case or gigbag of any sort
the only thing that is up to you is what looks better
hm what do the steel frets do
and if you bring your guitar to a luthier for a full setup and fret polish (which you should do with any storebought guitar) it will be great
schecter has a FR special with zink baseplate and saddles
HB has a Floyd 1000 with a STEEL baseplate and zink saddles
steel baseplate is a lot better because the knife edges wont dull quickly
i thought the schecter had like a "hot rod" floyd
saddles are replacable and its pretty cheap
i see
Floyd Rose ***special ***'Hot Rod' locking tremolo
oh
FR specials aren’t zinc baseplates, they’re zinc alloy saddles and sustain blocks
does it really matter if its still soft and dulls quickly?
isnt the schecter omen/extreme pickups really good?
this one has tesla pickups and they are great
if you play high gain - worry about your rig
not pickus
they are high output, just like on the HB
i play a lot of random stuff tbh
both guitars have good pickups
idk everything seems to point to the hb, but i can tell i have a bias cuz of how rubbish my guitar is
though again, i can confidently say that THIS specific one is better than the schecter
ik that any guitar that is less then 100 is terrible
again, a 50 pound guitar will be rubbish 9 times out of 10
no matter the name on the headstock
will be pretty ass
looks sick, is sick [ly]
iirc they’re all hardened steel, so it would dull as quick as an OFR
if you spend enough time on it it will be good
are you talking about specials or 1000?
i mean the trem is unusable, other than that its just setup really terribly
every Floyd, a 1000 is just an OFR from Korea, and a special is an offshore OFR with zinc saddles and sustain block
yh i just realized
which is still great
probably wont snap my strings
wait do trems regularly snap ur strings when u go too far down?
they dont
oh..
probably there is a sharp point somewhere where your strings contact the guitar
i have a few questions about the double locking trems
tuners or trem
can u go as far down as u want with the whammy bar?
like push down as far as u want?
as far as the guitar allows
your body is gonna get in the way of the guitar
woah thats pretty low down
no, it’s designed to take a beating
if the guitar is made out of shitty wood and you have high tension strings and springs it might pull the trem claw out but it shouldnt be a problem on neither schecter or harley benton
like pullip up
depends on the string tension
like gauge/tuning
what is best gauge for going as far up/ down with the whammy bar?
jesus
what tuning do you play in
standard or drop d
you can also go as far as the body allows you
im a simple lad
once again, as far as the guitar allows. your strings can only go so far back obviously, but the recess isn’t just a giant cavity it’s small recess
like depending on how deep the floyd reccess route goes
huh alr >:)
whatever strings you like, makes literally no difference on a guitar with a whammy vs without
im getting ready to do the most irritating whammy bar tricks ever
any recommendations?
you’ll just need heavier springs if you go super heavy
wdym super heavy
i think ima try get the schecter, but if my budget doesnt allow it il get the Harley Benton
I use 9-42 in E on a floyd, but that’s my preference. 9-46 on a 6 point trem, 10-52 on an LP in E, 12-60 on an EC in D and a few others interlaced. that’s what I like though, you should experiment
large gauges
ah
with a trem you’re balancing the spring tension and the string tension, too much string tension your trem pulls up on its own and too little and it pulls down on its own
hm i wanna be able to bend easily, but not TOO easily
ah i see
ive seen people tryna get it perfect, looks painful
it’s just time consuming, once it’s set it’s set forever though
only need to change it if you change tuning or gauges
how often do i need to change my strings on a floyd?
same as any other guitar
im supposed to do it once a month on a regular guitar, but changing strinngs on a floyd looks HELLA hard
no
It’s not hard
just takes ever so slightly more time
oh
If anything to me changing strings on a non floyd guitar is harder
how do i tune it? ive watched videos but i still dont understand
you either change one at a time, or you put something under the trem so it doesn’t fall off the posts
Watch more videos
too many methods for me to understand
use the tuners to get it set, then you clamp the nut
I watched it till I got it
Watch one
once the nut is clamped, the tuners don’t do anything
Over and over
ive seen one that i think is simple, tune the first 2 strings, and clamp each nut
and then use the fine tuners
that’s why the fine tuners are there, otherwise you need to unclamp the nut every time you need a slight turning change
depends on how you do it. I cut the ball ends off then string it like a regular guitar
adn then repeat for each thing
i mean tuning
not changing strings
Watch even more videos
ah, after the restring you tune every string 7 times, it’ll stop going out then.
You gotta balance the floyd
clamp the nuts, fine tuners are for small adjustments
so just e a d g b e
in that same pattern
The sTring tension has to match sPring tension
7 times over?
Not necessarily
7 times is where it stops going out, im yet to find a guitar where that isn’t the case
May be more maybe less
if it’s not falling out of tune in its own, then clamp
then clamp the nut
and then do fine adjustments?
wait that seems quite easy if u have a tuning pedal
a good locking nut won’t clamp them sharp, so it should be perfect immediately. there will be slight changes in the tuning like every guitar, but Floyd’s are more stable than hard tails when it comes to tuning stability
provided they’re well set up
will the hb and schecter clamp them sharp or nah
wouldn’t know unless i had one. most likely not, as it tends to be when the locking nut has grooves worn in it over time from the strings
If the tension bar BEHIND the nut is the correct height - no
as long as the string is making full contact with the base and clamp of the nut, it’ll be fine
should i expect that to be pre done?
yes
guys, the part im worried about when getting a new floyd is that im not that technical,
and i dont think i can set it up properly
Doesn’t matter
You will learn that eventually
what do i have to do to "set it up"
It will probably come intonated
cuz ive seen really complex stuff with the saddles and like the measurements, its confusing
Though I still suggest bringing the new guitar to a luthier for a full setup AND fret polish
how much would that cost?
I have no idea where you live and what your local luthiers charge man
You gotta find that out yourself
All the tools you need for a floyd usually come with the guitar
Which are just 2 wrenches
For the HB, it also comes with a little rod to adjust the truss rod
Schecter comes with 3 I think
If you are a newbie I would get a Harley Benton at least for the spoke wheel truss rod adjustment
I would buy this Harley instead
Bundle specifically
Can you add it to cart instead?
I wanna see the price difference
you can spend the remaining 100 pounds on 2-3 packs of good strings and a setup
i suggest Daddario XS 9-46
honestly dude i know you probably got this alot but
save up til u can get like maybe 650 pounds
get an ibanez guitar with a edge zero ii
oh wait 550 pounds would be enough
550 pounds bro
get a ibanez guitar with an edge zero ii
i vouch for this
honestly i wouldnt get anything with a LFR or a fake floyd
I mean some licensed Floyd’s are great
yeahh but honestly youd be hassle free without getting one 😭
Gotoh ge1996t ?
no im talking like jackson lfrs
gotoh ge1996t is good tho
like jackson LFRS and schecter LFRS at this price range
ehhh
i would rather get a floyd rose speicla
special*
The bare minimum for double locking trems for me are floyd rose specials and edge zero ii
i like the edge zero ii more than the fr special tho because its a pop in arm instead of a screw in
hm ive seen a bit of hate on the pickups on the rg450dx
and the only good feature of the guitar is the wizard neck and slightly less shitty trem
as someone who had an rg350dxz id say that the hb is still better
you cant tune to drop d on the edge zero ii
the spring tension adjustment wheel doesnt go far enough if you wanna have lighter gauge strings in lower tunings
and it takes quite a bit of modification to fit a trem blocker in the back cavity
uh what about the evh drop d tuna?
there are none for the edge
oh i see
ah
and you cant really use them on reccesed non blocked floyds
most are decked
idk what that mean
there might be a few with a recess, don’t quote me on that
down only
in what context?
It means it’s a licensed floyd
Dude we gave you pretty much the best options in your price range
uh
please refrain

aw
yes ma'am
I DONT HAVE THAT ON MINE
sorry caps
i dont have that on mine
u can get one without it
wizard neck is also nice imo
the older models didnt have them
i had a 2021 indonesian rg350dxz
it had one
i think the new ones also have them
def get an rg470 tho
great guitar
edge zero ii without the spring wheel thing
theres a few without the ZPS
RG420EX doesnt have one
rg450 doesnt ahve one either
the new Rg470 was also released this year and it doesnt have it
rg470ahm that is
try to find no hate on ANY stock pickup
of any budget guitar
stock pickups just generally sound very generic / dull
across all brands
you can get easily change pickups though, and sometimes for relatively cheap
so i wouldnt let pickups be a bother
Idk I loved the stock Tesla VR-2 in my HB
i found them to be similar to just ur general artec made stuff, a cut above the very bottom but still kinda generic cus thats kinda the safe route to go with stock pickups. can be a great or horrible thing just based on what u want from a guitar, not a bad thing to be generic when it comes to this stuff
ive played the teslas found in hb and whatever set a coworker had in one of his tagimas
hm i see
there is an andertons 1 hour away from me i might go there
Harley benton series
i think its called fusion
as a d1 schecter glazer, theres a bunch of $550, mainly demon, damien, and the omens
eventually switch it out for a better one
yh ive decided on a schecter if my budget allows, but a harley benton if im gonna save a bit
406 msgs is crazy
