#which guitar should I go for. and what are the main differences?
119 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
The difference would be its more vintagy in specs
Both are p much the same thing only copying different era of how guitars looked
The link you sent is more modern and with a humbucker so more oriented towards high gain/distortion music while classic vibes will be more clean/crunch
I think theyre equally versatile i guess unless youre looking for something really specific
Ok so update I ruled out that one and I'm stuck on these 2 https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/TeleCV70DOW--squier-classic-vibe-70s-telecaster-deluxe-olympic-white . https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/StratCV50WB--squier-classic-vibe-50s-stratocaster-white-blonde . Which would you say would be better for more broader options of genres and music? I don't wanna limit my options so something that could play all well would be great. But I will be playing more softer rock, than super screechy headbang metal
@indigo ore
I dont think youll be limiting with either
I think tele handles gain better if youll want to put on extra crunch on the bridge pickup
Or maybe i just prefer the sound, most of it is preference
I know that the vibe 70s are a bit different build from the 50s and also the tele is a tele deluxe the build is a little different it's weird
Which would you think?
The tele 70s deluxe or just the normal 50s strato
I want a more clean softer sound
I think tho i never had those two
Idk sry lol I don't know much about the parts or anything so I'm blind here haha
But overall i think strat has a more specific sound
While tele can be more generic
Do you want to fit in as background or kinda stand out
Not necessarily cut through tho
I mean both are extremely versatile
Its all in the pickups
I plan to play solo if that's what you're asking
I dont think you can go wrong with either one
Im a strat lover so id get that one
But i recognize theyre equals for the most part
If anybody else has any tips let me know
I'm not in America so I don't know about the price but for rock I can't fault my Baja tele I paid £725 new for it about 5 years ago I'd look into those preowned
But looking at the price of those classic vibes ones I'm betting you can buy one for not much more preowned
I'm Mainly just looking at these 2? If anybody prefers one over the other or Is informed on these any advice or info Is helpful I'm just thinking which to buy
thought u were going for a strat?
nah
the classic vibe is genuinely just a better built guitar
never noticed
im gonna tell you again, neither of these are limiting
they both can play the same stuff, its just a different flavor of sojnd
I know I'm still open to advice and info tho
oh my bad the link was a contemporary vs cv not affijity vs cv
i mean doesnt matter much in my experience affinities always felt better than cv
ime, affinity’s have had more issues on average
feeling better might come down to you preferring the affinity’s slimmer and satin neck profile
as well as the slightly thinner body
idk cvs always felt like toys to me
maybe i was lucky always getting the good affinities
yeah thats why i said they felt better to you, cus it sounds more like a preference of spec thing
doubt
rather than build quality
i think build quality is p much the same
from whats come into the shop, the affinity’s just on average had more issues to address for me
weird
strat:
5 tonal options, has a tremolo, has body carves. brighter sound
tele:
3 tonal options, no tremolo, usually no body carves, more balanced sound
thats basically about it
did Saint Leo eventually put a belly cut as a default on the ASAT?
Still think if your set on a tele just save a little bit more and buy a baja or a mexi player series
Would it be a waste to not use a tremolo on the strat? I don't plan on ever using them I don't like the feel of them
Huge jump up in quality
its a similar consensus all over the internet as a whole from other players, so to me it might sound like you prefer the feel of affinitys as a whole as opposed
a lot of people dont use those
its a waste
i can only trust what i experienced
cus its more maintenance to have them
a lot of people talk shit for the sake ofit
Wait is it a waste to not use them or use them?
not really
its ok you dont have to use it lol
Ok lmao
its more maintenance to have them so if you use them its not a waste but its a bit of a detriment
especially if u plan to have a guitar that can change tunings a lot on the fly
I know that pickups that can have a trembolo are a big part of the sound and use sometime I just wanna make sure I'm not wasting any features or anything
I've used trembolos before and they just don't work for me feels awkward and stuff
its not like u have to use it, im just emphasizing a caveat
Okok
at this point just listen to both pickup types sounds online
since thats really what it boils down to now
other that comfort, which you cant test out
I've used guitars of similar build so I think I'll be comfortable with this
And I've seen teles built like Stratos and vice versa
nashville tele
nashville tele is a tele that kinda has the strat pickup combination
just look up a pic youll get it
i think thats kinda what you meant
oh no like
the body carves themselves
Yea that's what I meant sorry built as in the body
hot
but virtually all strats do
Different shapes and designs and concave for each tele and strato
they’re carves to confirm to your arm and stomach
tele tremolos are wild tho
and those lack of carves a gripe for a portion of tele owners, to the point where they carve then in themselves. so just verify if thats a dealbreaker for you
or you can find a tele with them already carved in
I love it 😻
strat
I made my decision and ordered the classic vibe 50 strat : ) thx for all the advice here yall
Nice choice
Thx do you have any advice for a new strat buyer anything to get used to or know?
Strat is easy to get used to so no worry 🙂
Ok thanks : D
I ordered the new boss katana 3 too with it I can't wait to see how it plays
I'm buying a whole new setup from my cheap thrift junk guitar
Oh wow im jealous !
What amp do you have?
I'm upgrading from like literal junk I learned on this is my first actual amp so I'm excited
A katana gen 2
LMAOAOOAOA
Oh
Bro I was like "I bet you are!!!"
I've heard they're apparently shutting down the gen 2
Also which Watt do you have on yours?
Everybody keeps buying 100 watt but I don't think it's worth it
Got this 50 gen 3 for 300 flat
They aren’t really far but got a few more cool features
50 is already loud enough for a lot of situations
Also is there any tutorial videos or anything for the amp I'm gonna not know what to do and I expect the manual will be hot ass
Look at Andertons vidéo where they talk about the gen 3
Thx
