i suggest, learn a song

#

learn that songs' melody and harmony

#

be able to play that song's harmony into a recordiing device. looper or DAW

play that song's melody over that

#

then, if you want to limit yourself to playing really any scale as a solo, do that

i suggest a blues

where, you would be using a minor pentatonic scale likely as a "parent scale"
