can’t figure out what tuning

im trying to play the song “screaming at forgotten fears” by xasthur (the 2007 version!!! not the 2005 one). it sounds very haunting, and i’d like to replicate that. i have been trying to figure out what tuning xasthur might have used but i’ve no idea. could someone help? im going crazy over this LOL i know the tabs already i just need to know what key/tuning it’s in

there's nothiing happeniing in the first few seconds of the first video that would require an alternate tuning

in the second one, he states he's in Eb tuning

he's playing it a half step higher than the other

you can hear the first chord of the first video is G, and the second is Ab

if you want to have open strings you'll want to do an alternate tuning.

the second video (the 2005 version) is a bit higher pitched than the first one (2007 version). i just want to get the tuning that’ll give me that dark and haunting sound.

i followed the tutorial, tuning and all, but when it came to playing it the same time as the 2007 version played, it didn’t match at all
