Should I take off the whammy bar after practice or should I put it on?

I keep my guitar in a guitar bag, I don’t really use it and whenever I use it I remove it. But if I put it on and take it off regularly, will it get damaged?

Having the whammy installed while in a gig bag is fine. Metal contact of screwing on and off over the years will wear the tread, but not enough for you to really notice.
