I haven't had much experience with that song myself.
But as a general tip, look at your picture.
Where you have your guitar's neck horizontal, you are leaning over the guitar to see what your fingers are doing, your shoulders aren't even.

Consider getting the guitar neck up at a 45° angle, (headstock to the ceiling)

Keep your wrist straight, fingers curled.

If you need to look at your fingers, have your phone cam on in front of you so you can see yourself instead.

Someone with experience with this song is @supple steeple would have done great advice I'm sure.

Based on the playing, it looks like you learned each section 1 by 1 without working on the sound or fingering slowly. You need to slow the song WAY down. Don’t waste your time rushing songs cause guys that play can tell, and it’s just lazy and it WILL sound like shit. Go slow, learn techniques, and go from there. Good luck

First of I want to say that playing god is an awsome song and its super sick that your learning it after only six months of guitar. Ive been playing for almost 2 years at this point and I can't play this well so its super awesome that you are learning

#

For this song specifically I'd say you need to get pull offs, hammer ons, slides, and harmonics. Then there are two slightly optional ones but there ones that i would 100% recommed using which are bars and hybrid picking

#

Hybrid picking doesn't need to be learned beforehand I would say, I learned it through this song but its super useful for the second part because after the intro you NEED a pick to play as fast as Scotts playing so its good to get used to playing the intro with a pick and your fingers

#

Bars will make a lot of parts for this song much easier to play, as an example at the end of the song it looks like you play 11 on the low e string 12 on the a string and 11 on the high e string as three septet notes that you move your finger each time to play which hurts both speed and laggoto (or note sustainability)

#

I normally play that part with my fingers like this

#

With my pointer fretting 11 as a bar and my middle finger fretting 12

#

This way because all my fingers stay on the fret board the notes aren't muted and you can play all of them in one movement with my right hand(thumb plucking low e and a then middle finger plucking high e)

#

This emphasis on laggoto can really improve your playing, specifically you should focus on keeping your fingers on the fret after you play them(when you can)

#

Sorry for the bad quality in the video

#

But you can apply this rule of trying not to mute notes throughout the whole song

#

Other people here said you should slow it down and practice each part as clearly as possible and they 100% right that will help you a lot especially with note clarity
