Hi guys! I'm looking for some recommendations for things to purchase for my first-ever guitar set-up.
I'm looking for pedals, an amp, cords, and to choose a guitar! The current three guitars I'm most interested in are the Epiphone Les Paul, the Stratocaster, and the Telecaster deluxe.
For amps, so far I've been recommended the Fender LT25 or Katana 50 MK2 (I think I'm going to go with the Fender LT25 since I heard it works a lot better when it comes to high gain and clean sounds.)
For pedals, I'm assuming that as of currently I wouldn't need them as the amp is supposed to have them built in apparently; as for the effects/pedals that I may be looking for, the type of sound I'd like to emulate is similar to these videos I found.
What I was told was making it sound deep in 1/2 could possibly be any of these pedals: "Pitch shifting pedal, Digitech drop, Digitech whammy, the Pitchfork, or maybe an Octave pedal."
I'm hoping to also narrow it down to a specific 2/3 pedals or less that are most applicable for emulating the sound instead of five pedals or more pedals that might possibly be able to emulate it: I'm also trying to figure out if it would be possible to emulate said sounds with the built-in effects/pedals of an amp.
(As for Amp recommendations, anything that could possibly emulate the sounds in the videos I sent is something I'd love to learn more about!)
The specific style that I was told I was looking for is "High gain, Silky smooth distortion type stuff, the stuff you would hear in the '80s." (Best way to see for yourself though I'd say is to look at the video's!)
I'm also a big fan of Foreigners guitar in Jukebox hero, so if I were to have another example of sound, it would be that, that's also where I originally wanted to get into playing electric guitar because of the Les paul used in the video.
As for cords, and any other things I might need to make a guitar work properly aside from an amp / pedals, I know absolutely nothing, so please recommend anything you think would suit what I'm getting!
I also need a guitar pick, so if you know any that would also help to produce those types of sounds, let me know!
