i know this is not what you asked for but try building your own pedalboard
with wood
its gonna save you a lot of money which you can use to buy more pedals
also you can customise the size so that it fits your pedal number
How could I get started with that?
Oh nvm i see now, the msgs hadn't loaded in yet
That's actually really good
Yeah I could probably do that
Not for a while though, need some free time to make it
Thanks very much for the suggestion
ofc man
Yeah it's a lot cheaper to just go to home Depot or something and pick up the materials
All a pedalboard really is, is a surface with pedals on it
What kind of wood should I get @gusty mauve @quick apex ?
It shouldn't really matter. If you go into somewhere like home Depot, just feel it. Try to bend it, stuff like that. Make sure you know the exact size you need for your pedal board
And then you will probably want to pick up some other parts at home depot while you're there. Maybe add handles to the board, legs?
You probably want it to be angled
ive seen people use cutting boards
Some Velcro or dual lock
and they just get abit of wood to raise them up and angle them
Yeah velcro for sure
Yes of course
Well I'm out of my town for a bit so for now all I can do is figure out sizes of stuff
And what I want for it
So for now I'll draw a diagram that can fit my pedal
People typically consider dual lock better than Velcro
Possibly, but I also enjoy making things as well so I'll probably use wood
Ill have a look at both then maybe
I can 3D print you a set of brackets if you want so you can make it however long you want.
I have a 2 layer version as well
How would I pick it up?
I can ship you the brackets and then you can get furring strips from Lowes, cut them to length and you're ready to go!
@magic bloom has a set of each as well, pretty customizable and you can really do whatever you want with them. The 2 layer is actually a set I sent to him to play with.
I'm not in America though
might not be worth the shipping, but it wont hurt to look into it
these are nice and easy to work with making whatever size situation one needs
So dw about it
Oh makes a bit of a difference then. you had asked about Amazon so i thought maybe you were
If you want decent/cheap on Amazon, then look at the GhostFire boards
if you make something for yourself, get the case/bag first
Ultra light 5052 aviation grade aluminum alloy, 5052 aluminum plate aluminum plate belongs to the more commonly used alloy aluminum plate series, the main element is magnesium, the magnesium content is between 3-5%. Also known as aluminum magnesium alloy. It is characterized by low density, high ...
Then pick your size and go from there! They come with bags too
the bag/case is really the expense
if one doesnt need a bag/case, then one is likely not traveling with the pedals, and can just put them on the floor and not on a "pedalboard"
Yea I paid $70 for mine for my custom board
i think thats worth saying
i think folks assume a pedalboard is a necessity
its just a convenience
Oh I do need one though I think
for this, for example, you dont really require a pedalboard
Ive started playing shows more and more often so that's why I was looking into it
for this, you would likely want a board with a bag
ghostfire is hard to beat
not sure if the bags will hold up well
but certainly good value
Bag is fairly decent with the Ghostfire boards. I have one (that I'm actually selling) and the bag is super nice
