#7 string buying guide (Legator??)

On the Jackson the volume knob is pretty close to the strings…
True I don’t really think of that cause I tend to play between the pickups mmmh
But it has bkp so that’s cool
Most of the time I play between pickups but lately I’ve been doing really wide and aggressive strokes
And the esp looks pretty nice but same problem
I’ve never seen that as a problem so I never think of it
seems to be just a think with dinky/soloist style bodies lol
it isn't a huge issue if you're going overboard
what scale length if fan fret is a must
It’s flexible but maybe 25.5-27?
headless or doesnt matter
Schecter Reaper 7 is a good option... satin finish with neck-thru... the neck is really nice.. not too thick or big for a 7
I’m flexible. Does it matter that much? I care more about durability and function as far as that goes
7 string buying guide (Legator??)
Now is Legator any good? I’m super interested in their stuff but I want to make sure it’s worth it
they can be good but the quality control is kind of a gamble
Hmm
ormsby has some models under 1500, with shipping adds up to about 1500
I wouldn’t worry about that if Sweetwater carried legator
At this point Idek what brand to look at
Schecter Ibanez and Ltd
Is it bad that I don’t wanna get a schecter
I have no idea why
No
It fair cause they are seen as emo guitars lol
I’m kind of emo sometimes, but at the same time I wanna get good clean tones
any guitar will do both
Yep
Which one will have steel frets for cheaper?
Ik ltd does idk about Ibanez
Stranberg exist too
Idk what else really
Vola guitars?
I know they have really good specs for the price but they're still not super cheap
Looking for multiscale I think
wasn't in the original spec, but i think schecter would be best for that

personally im not a huge fan, their 6 strings look better
they seem good value though
They’re a tad expensive
Yes
Used I mean still pricey but
Yeah, fair
Idk I might just try and enjoy what I have rn instead of focusing on the next thing (I’m trading guitars on Thursday lol)
i didn't mention this because its so under your budget, but i genuinely believe it hits well above its price
an NK 7 string headless
its one of those chinese brands, but they have a decent amount of reputation within the headless community due to their build quality to price ratio
i've owned three of em myself, so i can wholeheartedly stand behind them
25.5 - 26.5" multi scale, luminlay inlays and side dots, endurneck-esque neck profile, titanium and brass hardware, titanium reinforcement rods, stainless steel frets (that were all well crowned and leveled as well out of my 3 models)
oh theyre about 550
Dude I love cheap guitars. If it’s actually quality I will take it
BRO WAIT WHAT SEND LINK ILL BUY RN (except I don’t have money) BUT STILL
THATS EVERHTHING I EAS LOOKING FOR
Aliexexpress-only pretty much, theyre built to order so build times about a month. but the plus side of that is allowing for a decent range of customization
Are you on the market for an headless guitar but you don't have the budget for a Strandberg or some other big brand? Maybe you should take a look at these Aliexpress guitars, but there's a catch...
If you are on the fence and you're not 100% convinced about buying one you should definitely watch the video.

heres a video going thru some thibgs
Oh Ali express? That’s sketch
ali express is basically asia’s version of Amazon
its no less sketch than most online commerce places
Hm
its reputation stems from it being from China, and in turn having chinese products from fake les pauls to cheap electronics
but asian brands like Yamaha and Cort sell their own official guitars on it
Oh! Yeah I might pick one up!
ive gotten a good handful of guitars built on aliexpress myself
the headlesses are all NK’s

more reviews n shit, you should do ur own research as well on forums mentioning them
my 6 strings from them were 450-480
my 7 was 550 something
Honestly for that price I might just look at Ali express. Do they have any warranty?
not that I know of, if somethings damaged upon arrival theyll just send replacement parts or an entire guitar
also comes with a decent gig baf
you can join the facebook group for them if you wanna see more work they do
theres some pretty custom builds
Me who doesn’t have any social media except BeReal and discord 🧍♂️
Oh that’s sweet
DUDE NO WAY ITS THAT CHEAP
but yeah as mentioned, since they built to order, u can get a custom finish or neck spec or whatever as well
How does it feel?
This seems too good to be true
custom inlay as well
NO SHOT
like overall or?
I WOULD EXPECT $2500 FOR THAT
Yeah whatever you notice
their rose inlays one of the more common ones
Ooh!
feels good. thin satin finish on neck, frets on mine were nigh flawless, neck profile is like a strandberg but much soft edges, tuners are sturdy and hold tune surprisingly decent, bike chain lube helps them much better tho, glow in the dark inlays good and bright when charged, cavities surprisingly well shielded with copper tape, electronics are their weakpoint, but build quality cannot get much better
Did you say bike 👀
heres what i mean by it being fully shielded in copper
and as far as the custom inlays go, some people have gotten pretty nuts with it
found an old clip of me playing mine, i sold this one a bit ago tho
but yeah, i fully vouch for em. again, do some research and see what youtube reviews say and what the word is on them on 7 string forums
but as far as price to build quality and consistency goes, you cant get much better than these for a headless
i rarely ever buy from the same guitar brand multiple times, but i’ve owned 3 NK’s and likely a 4th soon
Nice!
Headless —> easy string changes and lighter
Ooh good to know
Unless the “headstocked” guitar has locking tuners is about the same ease
But one could argue that
Because headless guitars don’t have headstocks
They’re more durable
Because you can’t break the headstock off if there’s not one there
