Also what’s your budget

rugged lintel
#

prob something with a radius of under 7.25

rugged lintel
swift nebula
rugged lintel
#

no like a less round one

swift nebula
#

The bigger the flatter

#

A 20” radius is near flat

rugged lintel
#

im fine with any shape except the very round ones

#

currently using a sg

swift nebula
#

I mean if you want something with compound 12-16” 16” for the upper frets for leads

rugged lintel
#

so which ones would you suggest

#

i was thinking of a suhr guitar

swift nebula
rugged lintel
#

also i need like something with small frets till the 12th fret then slightly bigger frets from 12 -22 or more

#

i struggle playing fast stuff cuz frets too big and after 12 my fingers dont fit on a fret

swift nebula
#

Uuum i don’t think that’s gonna happen really

rugged lintel
#

alr then do u know of any companies or brands that make custom guitars

swift nebula
#

I mean you can get a custom shop

#

From like most brands

#

If you have the money

#

Several thousand

pearl pilot
#

You definitely will be able to play past the 12th

#

My fingers don’t fit the same

#

They don’t have to perfectly fit

rugged lintel
#

i use a gibson sh

#

sg

sick wave
#

ok. you can play that music on that guitar. what are you wanting to change about that guitar?

rugged lintel
#

i feel the neck is too thick and its hard to play fast on it

sick wave
#

ok. i suggest getting around some other instruments. you'l find, you can play fast on any guitar, if you can play fast

#

within reason, you wont need a "fast guitar"

#

if one can play fast? one can play fast on a gibson SG

#

you may look for a local guitar player with that experience that plays fast, and let them play fast on your guitar so you can see that happen

#

they may have preferences, like a thinner neck, etc.. and you can communicate about that

#

but, that guitar is capable

rugged lintel
#

no its not that my hands are way too small

sick wave
#

sure

#

and its just not a hand-size problem, either

#

but yeah. just get around some guitars and find out

#

you wont need a "custom guitar" to get a smaller/thinner neck

#

you will find, the small/thinner neck wont automatically play faster

#

but find out. play some guitars and see what you prefer

rugged lintel
#

eh i dont want a custom guitar only because of the shape

sick wave
#

im encouraging you to see what you would need a custom guitar for

#

by all means? get a $4k ibanez RG style guitar or whatever else you read about with a thin neck that folks play fast on

#

but i would suggest just experiencing some more necks. so you can see how they feel and see that its maybe not automatically faster like that

#

check out really all guitars..

rugged lintel
#

pearl pilot
#

Check out the petrucci signatures

#

Are seven strings in the question at all

#

Ok

#

What’s the budget

#

Max you can go

#

You were talking custom so I imagine it’s high

#

This is a 16 inch neck radius

swift nebula
#

Or get the music man

pearl pilot
#

Kiesel too? I

#

like on an intonation level

swift nebula
#

Fr

#

That’s what I said but “custom guitar????”

rare niche
#

u just need stretchy hands to play the big frets, and to play with your fingertips to get the small ones

#

if your hands arent stretchy or precise jjust practice until they are

#

it happens eventually

Bro I’m not sure customs the right way for you

#

How long have you been playing for

rare niche
#

MIM charvels feel like 2000 dollar guitars

patent girder
#

i just discovered it makes good classic rock sounds that i didnt know it could make

#

it was just my loud guitar before

rare niche
#

i think the bridge humbucker is a bit too high output for my taste but i really like it otherwise

#

yeah its great for everything tbh

patent girder
#

with the HSS the 5 way switch splits it to the top coil + neck

#

it sounds a lot better than i thought tbh

rare niche
#

the single coils on those hss models are really niced

#

also i like how on the dk22 its a stacked humbucker

#

the bridge pup i mean

patent girder
#

yea hot rails

rare niche
#

i almost got one of the goldtop ones tbh

patent girder
#

if you can get a DK24 used it's one of the best value guitars you can find, brand new it's still great value as well @rugged lintel

rare niche
#

imo its straight up the best value until you get to the 2000 mark

pearl pilot
#

How long they’ve been playing I mean

swift nebula
#

If you want good upperfret get a V and good radius Jackson V

#

just by virtue of how frets must be
