New enough to guitar and i want to buy new strings as i feel like these are comming to the end of their time and the guy i bought it off also said theyre worn down! i have 0 idea on what strings to get or how to know so any help would be amazing!

9s! if you know what you have? you can comment about what you like or dont like about them. if you have zero idea? get simple nickel round wound 9's. any "name-brand" you see for around 7-8 bucks US equivalent. dont pay extra for daddario, but those are a good place to start. remember what you like and dont like about them and try other things. strings are the simplest/cheapest mod one can make. its 2024 now, and if there were one best? we wouldnt hide that from you. its personal taste.

oh i see! thats good to know, is there any way of me finding out what ones i have currently? and since im new enough im not too sure if im able to comment on what i like or dont like because i feel i dont have the skill and time with other stuff to be able to compare
like me being handed a 100 euro guitar or a 1000 euro guitar and id have to tell the difference

i just made that suggestion for a reason, and typed a lot about why above ^
you can ask whoever put the strings on what you have what they are
you can take it somewhere and let someone measure them
you can get or borrow a micrometer and measure them

d'addario strings do last a bit longer than ernie ball whcih is why id suggest them

you can look at the ball ends.. if they are multi-colored, thats likely daddario

if you want strings you can put on and kinda forget about id recommend elixirs, they last a long time

and there are other coated strings (elixirs are coated strings, which is a fine suggestion)
i would suggest making sure you like the gauge before investing? but its not that much more, really

friend, you shouldnt pay extra for the brand daddario. you should get some simple nickel round wound 9's.. daddarios unless you live somewhere where those cose $40US to ship in, which is why i dont suggest daddario, but just a reasonable name-brand.

i vouch for Elixir and Stringjoy
theyre more expensive, but last longer for me than daddario XL, XS, and Ernie slinkies
its more economical in the long run
