I’ve been practicing with a 1994 Squier Stratocaster (complete beginner here). I got curious and found my “dream” guitar online, being the Squier Bullet Mustang HH (in Imperial Blue).
Is it worth buying? Is it a noticeable improvement from my stratocaster? How moddable is it (if at all), and can modding it improve its performance to an intermediate or professional degree when I get to those points?
(If it wasn’t clear, by “dream” I mean my ideal style and colors).
Link to the Mustang for reference I guess:https://www.musicarts.com/squier-bullet-mustang-hh-electric-guitar-main0393185?variantid=1432069&source=LPPC8CFA&source=LWWRCKEBA&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIv7uBiYXPggMV5czCBB0kEQHeEAQYASABEgIMu_D_BwE

It’s short scale tho
Like the neck size?
Oh, gotcha. What problems come with that?
Imo the feel and also you’d need thicker strings to down tune
Then normal scale
But nothing really major
But it’ll feel different then like a strat
Do you think it could be better than my strat?
thats up to preference
personally I'm not a fan of short scales
its short scale, so consider getting a new CV mustang
Do you need a HH setup?
A 1994 Squier Strat? I think those old Squiers were supposed to be quite good, I don't think a Squier Bullet would be an improvement
a bullet would definetly not be an improvement
you should at least get a Squier Classic Vibe
there is a classic vibe mustang
I don't necessarily need one, but I definitely like the look of the HH the most.
The Classic Vibe, as you guys pointed out, seems to be better with specs. I don't like the look of it a whole lot, which I know is probably the least important thing about a guitar.
Thanks for everyone's input, by the way. This is really helping me out. I'm not quite sure what to do anymore, though.
What do you want from a guitar
Looks is definitely a big thing for me, but it's not important if the actual guitar is really good. I like the Mustangs a lot, and I want something that's going to last me for a really long time, like when I become more skilled overtime.
Alright so a high quality mustang

What specific specs do you want?
I'm not super smart with specs, to be honest. If it's worth anything, I want something that's good for indie rock with maybe a warm sound rather than twangy. Does that help at all?
Yeah, it does. What shape, do you like and do you want a tremolo
What do you mean by shape?
I don't want a tremolo, no.
Body shape
Mustang solid body?
What do you think do Jazzmasters and jaguars?
They're alright. I like the Jazzmaster better I think.
And what’s your budget?
Probably 600 dollars max if it's really worth it, 400 dollars is more around my range.
Alright

That's a really cool looking guitar! Do you think it's good for what I need?
Totally
One more tho

The Harley Benton is better specs wise
This just looks a little different
If you can, totally get the Harley Benton
It’s VERY well specked
Speced
It has a tremolo
But you didn’t want a tremolo
So actually
That Harley Benton is best
Go for it!
Awesome! And it'll last me for a while?
Oh wow! If I can get the sound I want out of it, I'm definitely buying it!
Thanks for helping me with all of this. Sorry if I was annoying or confusing at any point.
Do you think I should buy it soon or stick with my strat for a while longer?
No problem! You should buy it soon because cyber Monday and Black Friday are literally right now
I'll definitely buy it then!
One final question just before I buy it, should I go to the store and feel one first, or am I good to just buy it online?
These guitars aren’t usually in stores
They are based in Germany
so I don’t see how you could find on in store unless ur in Germany
If you can, go for it
But if you can’t, it’s fine
Sounds good. I'll look into buying it before the sale ends then.
