I'm a fan of epiphone as well.

There is a different model for epiphone as well, the inspired by Gibson one is the cheapest. You've got the prophecy one as well.

That comes with fishman fluences

If you want a more vintage style explorer like older hetfield stuff, the epi is prob best. For more modern things, the Ltd. You already know the drawbacks of an Epiphone (QC, general parts quality) and how LTD tends to be better about that, stuff, (considering that they are also a branch off of ESP). Just remember to take that into consideration
