So have anyone had experience in them? Need to mod my strat and I want to replace the bridge pickup. Need it to deal very well with ovd and dist. Or any single bridges that can do that great?

Stacked single coil like a noiseless single coil?

#

I've tried the Fralin Split Blade and DiMarzio Area T in my Teles, and been happy with both... I'm guessing the Strat versions should be good too

Hmm I’ve tried both actually. In fact I’m abt go and borrow my teachers strat which has the rails. Unfortunately both are too expensive in this case

The difference between those two is that one is a humbucker and one is a stacked single coil. The humbcyker will have characteristics that lean more towards humbuckers, like complete noiselessness, darker sounds, etc. the stacked single coil will sound like a single coil but have less hum. They would sound EXACTLY like a real single coil, but they get real close, the same way the mini hum won’t sound exactly like a hum

That's because stacked single coil is a humbucker, it's that simple. What gives pickups their characteristic sound is mostly due to size of the magnetic field, and a slice of the string that affects it. Rails and stacked single coils will still have the bite and attack of a single coil, slightly rounder mids maybe. But generally they would be very very close

You can hear how bobbin and coil size affect the sound when you go all the way around. And go to a wide single coil, like a jazzmaster pickup. Which have some hallmarks of a humbucker. I would struggle to tell my JM bridge pickup from a humbucker, especially with some dirt

Because wire wraps around it. It's the coil size, I might've worded it badly
