This here is my daughter's epi which she told me she doesn't like. I've had several variants of these. I've yet to cough up enough dough for a studio or custom or something real nice

I now wonder why it's called special, there's nothing real special about it, no binding no arch top it's just a real solid budget guitar to get you your fix. Still I stand by an Epiphone any day

So forever and a day I been looking for epiphone bass body and never could find one, why you ask, well over 10 years ago during the last month of my 1st marriage I sought out a guy on craigslist to re paint my then Les Paul special epi bass. As he was in possession of it doing what he does my wife and I split up and got a divorce. She kept the computer we were using which had my contact for the painter which in turn means I never got my bass body back. Which not brings me to recently I seen someone selling a epi body and neck together no hardware. For a mere $100.oo i jumped on it and as it turns out I bought a 1998 Epiphone Les Paul Standard check it, going to re build and repaint this beauty

i own an ibanez gio and 2 epis myself (the epis were NOT a surprise…) and all 3 play great
i haven’t played a schecter yet 😔 but ive heard really great things about them

I've noticed something odd about Epiphone Casino

Modern Casinos have same neck joint at 16th fret

Just like vintage originals

But some Early 2000s Casinos had neck joint at 18th fret

Why did it happened ?

And why Casinos went back to 16th fret neck joint ?

In the late 1950s, Gibson wanted to modernize the Les Paul. In 1961, they introduced a new, thinner double-cutaway body and initially labeled it as a "Les Paul." However, Les Paul himself didn’t like the new design, and combined with mixed reactions from players attached to the original, Gibson decided to rename the model.

In 1963, it became officially known as the "SG" (Solid Guitar).

The guitar I bought is Epiphone’s tribute to the very first 1961 Les Paul. That’s why the headstock reads "Les Paul" instead of "SG."
