Water damage

It's pribably the biggest thing to look out for

I don't have an amp, would I need one to test it or should I be good buying it as is

indigo crater
#

what amp is it?

wind skiff
#

I don't have an amp lol

#

I'll probably be buying the amp day after

wind skiff
#

Am I risking too much by not testing with an amp ?

indigo crater
#

u dont need an amp to test the guitar besides the pickups and its settings

My guitarist friends saying that i shouldn't buy a Yamaha because nobody plays Yamahas is he wrong is this a good first electric

indigo crater
#

idk what he's talking about

#

nobody talking about tuning

#

tune it up

#

play hard

#

check tune again

#

do bends, trems

#

see if it stays in tune

#

play every note in the guitar

#

check for dead notes

#

and the obvious issues of damage and all that

#

i have been said the same

#

i compares my Pacifica to his budget fender than

#

mine was way better

If you can check it by yourself

#

before buying

#

beside tuners, you want to check if neck is warped

#

Ask if it has been set up already too

#

If answer is positive, see how it plays, is action too high, does it have dead frets

#

If it was not set up, those things are fixable, but they require some work/money

#

If it was set up, and no issues

#

feels nice, stays in tune, neck not warped, you should be fine

#

it's an pac012, would that be good enough for now or is it still a kind of mediocre guitar

#

thanks btw

#

It should be good guitar as your first instrument

#

And how the time passes

#

You will see what you like and what you don't like about it

#

In terms of sound and feel

#

And will get something that probably suits you better

wind skiff
#

great thank you smm

heavy seal
#

But as first instrument it needs to be the guitar that you will want to play and feel happy about it

#

And to be decent enough so it can be tuned and stay in tune for reasonable amount of time

#

And HSS is great configuration to try out different sounds too

#

And see what you gear towards

wind skiff
#

are used amps reliable as well or should i buy a new one ?

heavy seal
#

Well, it depends, same as guitar.

#

And same as, anything

#

But, there is nothing wrong with buying used

checking if it's original

the serial number gives the description of the guitar as it left the factory

Calm down bro. I didnt say you were the first who brought it up nor had i any intention of insulting you

#

That being said, if its your first guitar i wouldnt worry too much about it.
Judging from the pictures it seems to be in a good condition and thats usually the case with entry level guitars, because people quit or upgrade. Often they dont get much use befor getting sold (and thats why its pretty clever to buy used).
If you have any clue how to play guitar, test it out and see if it has trouble holding tuning.
If you dont know how to play, you could just borrow an amp from a friend, take it with you and plug the guitar in. If it makes noise=its working. If you cant borrow an amp, just run your hands across the fretboard and check if the frets have any sharp ends. Thats probably all i would care for in a first guitar

none taken then

#

also the guitar looks like it's the 112 or more
