#Which Jazz Guitar To Buy

Honestly all guitar shapes have can have jazzy pickups, so which guitar shape do you like best?
I was thinking hollow body
So hollowbody as in 335 ish meaning that it’s also a rock guitar? Or completely hollow jazz box which is pretty much only good for jazz?
I’m talking mainly about the size difference and construction difference
@pale stirrup
Is there one that is good for both jazz and "metal"?
Humbuckers?
BasicLly the kind of pickups that most jazz guitars come with
For example the red guitar above is a Gibson 335 style and it is a rock and roll machine while also being a jazz box
It’s used by both kinds of musicians
Do you want a whammy bar or not?
If you aren’t sure it’s better not to because they can be high maintenance and annoying @pale stirrup
The whammy bar?
In what way is it high maintenance?
Using whammy bars can cause the guitar to go out of tune, it can make restringing the guitar on your own more confusing, and it is also not ideal for changing tunings at all, since it will make the entire guitar out of tune
So if im new to electric guitars i shouldnt really use a whammy?
Preferably, but if it’s a specific sound that you want, that’s a different story
But by the looks of it, you aren’t thag big on whammy bars, so it’s best to not get a guitar with one
Okay, thank you for the advice, il check out humbuckers
Also what colors do you like?
