Are these 2 ok or would there be a better bang for buck? Id rather stay below 500$ tbh, so a cheaper guitar would be preferable.

I have a scarlet solo in case that makes a difference and i can just skip the amp alltogether and grab a more expensive guitar

So something at most 350€ would be preferable if i go just guitar

I think that's a great combination you have there

#

Do you have anything already? Or is this your first guitar and amp

atomic fox
#

i had a harley benton previously but i dont have it currently so I am trying to buy a new one

#

I liked using the scarlet solo I am just guessing its not as good as the amp thats why i put the amp there

@warped pine

warped pine
#

Okay, so you've had an amp before too? And you prefer using the Scarlet Solo?

atomic fox
#

I havent had an amp, but now that i think about it the scarlet solo would be better as I am living in a dorm

warped pine
#

Ah I see.

atomic fox
#

theres also this option for the guitar i guess

A lot of people love the software amps, but personally I think it's a whole lot to learn and fuss with audio drivers, latency, amp sims, impulse responses, etc, that you could spend actually playing the instrument.

The big benefit of a dedicated amp for a beginner is its simply. Just plug in and go. Also you have the possibility to play with/for others without having to get them over to your computer

atomic fox
#

Whats the point of that one? Isnt it the same as the audio interface?

warped pine
#

No, the interface plugs into your computer, your computer does the processing, then you can record or listen on headphones

#

This is a thumb-sized thing that only plugs into your guitar and your headphones, and does all the processing inside. Much simpler single-use device

atomic fox
#

Ah

#

Sure this is much more affordable

#

Than the amp

warped pine
#

"processing" = "make your guitar sound like its going through an amp"

#

They're made for quiet practice on the go, and that's all they do

atomic fox
#

What about the guitar? And also does this thing support my headphones 80ohmd

#

Ohms

Up to you between the two Ibanez guitars. Main difference is the neck pickup. Neck humbucker might be better for metal if that's your thing.

#

Really I think the white one is prettier, and the black might collect fingerprints lol

warped pine
# atomic fox Ohms

I don't know much about high end headphones. I thought it sounded okay though cheapo earbuds and cheapo computer speakers

#

Headphone amps don't do beautiful, studio-quality tone. It's just a cheap, simple thing to let you practice quietly

#

You could use your Scarlett Solo and a computer to do the same thing, maybe better, but it's more complicated to set up and learning guitar is complex enough IMO

#

Or the Katana 50 has a headphone jack in it, if you want the option to play loud also

atomic fox
#

i see

#

thank you 🙂

warped pine
#

I don't think you could really go wrong with any of these options. All preference 🙂

soooo many tones

#

and 40 watt

#

it can also act as an amp head for cabs

#

you just need power

Honestly i would buy a sound card and a reference headset. Easier on the ears of others and better sound.
