#How does your band write songs?

Over 10 practices over 10 years
you take a scale/chord you like then kinda move it around and shit then i think of a drum beat that fits it then we do it a bit then add distortion and i lift my leg off the high-hat and thats it i guess
i write down random notes and hope they go to gether
I have a mental break down and then I'm able to write stuff and then I show it to my band
Chatgpt 😎
Write demos then show to band
Well im a one man band and i just write something that sounds cool nd unique and then figure out what it should be about and write lyrics
I program drums and write the guitars and bass when it comes to the writing process I don’t over complicate things for example a riff, (not to say I won’t write complex riffs) often times you will try to make your riffs so technical or unique that the feel and flavor of a nice simple riff gets lost. Best way to hone that back in personally is strip it down reasonably and/or start with bass for your rhythm
Funny enough i was actually thinking of this on the drive home today. I was listening to a riff somewhere in the middle of Moth Into Flame by Metallica and was thinking "huh, thats a really simple riff, but it works?" and it got me thinking about how i overly complicate some of my riffs
Lol
Yeah I had/have that problem nothing unoriginal about a simple riff
This
Riffs just come to me whenever I take a shower.
the mid shower shred always helps
It sucks when your the only making the demos though. That's my problem rn at least.
True
Yeah it sucks having to do everything, but if i dont do it nobody will lol
We just talk about our live
And make it dramatic
Than Mariano writes the riff and I help him to turn it into perfection
He also wrote the drum Beat
Than Eduard writes the bass line
And I help them to turn it perfect
Eduard the bass
And Mariano drums
I am the song writer
And the rest write the beat and sing it
I sometimes créate riffs
I need to improve my improvisation
usually the guitarist writes a nice riff and maybe some other stuff
and the others build around that
This sounds ridiculous but
For my last song I found a number on a barcode on a jar of soap and turned the numbers into a riff and I varied it a ton
we have about 18 chord sequences on the go at once 💀
I have many documents when i was an drug addict the pain made me write stuff that was do deep and came from so much suffer. Its alot about demons and angels. Haha
The lead guitarist plays some random shit and we just play along with it
I worked for a band and the guys would write songs in just a few minuets, some of the songs became very popular and sold a lot of records ..
