#Need recs (~500-600$)

I think a Fender Player Jaguar would be a good pick.
It does all of what you said well (excluding metal)
If you ARE more focused on metal, you might want to check out an HSS Stratocaster or maybe something similar from Ibanez, Charvel or Jackson
ESP also make good guitars, I'd personally recommend the LTD EC-256
But an HSS Strat would be your best bet
thanks for the recs :) the ltd was one i considered, since i liked it when i tried it out in store too
the jag is over my budget, at least here in my country... as for ibanez, i wasn't a fan of the ones i tried out but i'll definitely consider some superstrats and the sort
No problem
a pacifica of some sort
i considered it but i hated how the neck felt so probably not
jemjr
eh, bridge mid
better options for an RG
when you buy a jemjr youre also paying for signature and cosmetic tax
hence why you upgrade it down the line
oh i've tried
it's doable yes, but the feedback is terrible and the neck and string gauge and everything about it is just not conducive to playing faster styles
true, the S series (and the unfortunately named SA series) look interesting too... i'll have to try some out
or just get an actual decent rg to begin with
How about ibanez gio series
his budget can net him somethin 3x the price of a gio
i'm slowly narrowing down my options and so far i have:
- esp ltd ec-256
- epiphone sg muse (i have a thing for sgs)
- squier cv tele custom (though i'm kinda put off by it only having 21 frets)
note that while i gave my budget in usd, i'm not based in the us, so prices for guitars are different here
i'll probably go to the music store and see what they have in stock, try some stuff out and then choose based on what i feel from there
i thought of the epiphone sg classic p90 too, but i wanna play metal and i really don't wanna have to deal with hum :(
i know you all are recommending ibanez and i'm willing to give some of their other models a shot, but i really didn't like the ones i tried so i'm a bit hesitant
part of me is also tempted to buy a squier paranormal offset tele and swap out the neck pickup to a humbucker :p
please vote
the LP
esp dude
all the way
I have one myself
it sounds amazing
damn kay.. i tried it out and i liked it too... maybe i'll go for it
i'd like to try out a few other guitars and styles first tho
thanks for the responses everyone
ESP LTD Viper
that would be ideal but i can't find them anywhere :(
Where do you buy from? From which stores?
i'll check out a few irl stores in my city, as for online we don't have andertons or sweetwater or swee lee here so i use a regional store which doesn't carry the ltd viper atm
i'll still keep my eye out but otherwise, unless i pay a ludicrous amount in shipping and customs, i can't really get it
Look on Reverb
i'll check, but many sellers don't offer international shipping/it's unreasonably expensive and it's not very popular where i live
Hope you will find one
me too :) otherwise there's other options... the mustang has sorta swept me off my feet recently so i'm looking into offsets
