#Anyone here enjoy math rock?

I played drums in a anime-themed mathrock band called Behelit for a bit. I've got some demos that we recorded like 5 years ago but never released.
Does Dillinger Escape Plan count?
What is Math rock? Any examples?
It's like rock, but with complex rhythms, tempos, and time signatures. And the time signatures always change
For instance, you know that most songs are in 4/4 time.
In math rock they could use irregular time signatures like 5/4, 9/8,6/4, 7/4, and more
They could use 4/4 time, but it might not stay 4/4 for the entire song, because the song would be changing time signatures.
Maybe I'd recommend the band, Chon
Thanks, I’ll have a listen
That’s pretty cool, more like a cross between old school vai and jazz. I think rock is a stretch 😂
I would mostly recommend their album "grow", my favorite
-_-
I do as well
Does anyone know Delta Sleep
Possible the most math rocky of the math rock bands
i guess
Is math rock in any way simillar to prog ?
I do not know Delta Sheep
my favorite are Don Cab, they are major math rock pioneers, I see people consider them like "pure math rock"
kind of yeah
depends on who you listen to
imo its very similar to prog
I like math rock and I like prog for the same reasons
so its prolly the same the other way around
yeah
I'm into Yes, Led Zep, Rush. I don't think math rock can relate to that can it ?
yeah I don't think so then
what band do you recommend ?
Tricot, Chon, Tera Melos, Delta Sleep
My favorite has to be tricot
I like their song Strongthany
personally TTNG and Don Cab
TTNG are the best modern day math rock band imo, and Don Caballero is one of the most well known math rock pioneers
you are right, gives off major Strongthany vibes
Uncle Ivan is another song that gives major strongthany vibes
ok, i'll check it out
I've been listenning to Don Caballero , it's great thx !
ur welcome
Math Rock is heaps cool.
I am the fan.
Mostly familiar with the Japanese side of it though. In terms of the Western side then its more things like Covet or Midwest Emo
