megaz Hey everyone be sure to check out our brand spankin' new SCRIPT OF THE WEEK! thumbs_up_sign

TITLE: Warzone
GENRE: One-hour medical crime drama
FORMAT: TV
LOGLINE: Warzone is a one-hour, character-driven medical drama centered on a doctor running like hell from her past who is forced to work at an inner-city hospital bankrolled by a charming but ruthless criminal. Inspired by real events. Tonally, think ER by way of THE WIRE.

NOTES: An Oscar-winning screenwriter is interested in directing my pilot, which recently was a Script Pipeline 2025 TV finalist. I’ve been pitching this show for 2 years, with Jonathan Frakes and Seal Team’s Neil Brown, Jr. attached, just curious which scenes and characters land or work for people and why? Also, would you watch it and why. Thanks.

This week's featured script is written by @hollow latch! PhilPirrello is a VIP Member who supports Script Hive via Patreon, which helps keep this amazing resource FREE. Hey @hollow latch- Just wanted to say I took a look and think this is awesome. I'm not too big or knowledgable on the genre, but just wanted to say I hope you get some good feedback here. I think anyone who's interested in this type of material and format could totally benefit from seeing how it's done like a pro. Great job!

@hollow latch This was a fun read! Breezed through it. Would definitely watch this and watch more. Left some interesting threads for more that I would want to follow. I put some notes together after I finished reading, feel free to take a look. Great job!

Usually I try to write in a way I want it to feel when someone watches it, and have the read reflect that in the structure of paragraph breaks or dialogue breaks. Something a screenwriter taught me is to try and break up every 2 or 3 lines of dialogue with an action line that’s either an actor-y screen direction or a piece of business that pushes the narrative forward with maybe a new shot or complication

Yeah def think you did a good job with that
