method to make liquid fuel doesnt work anymore?

i have this fuel factory basically under my house that i use to make fuel am sure u know about this but if u slowly mix water with fuel it turns the water to fuel i did this soooooooooo many times by now and it always worked i quit the game for half a year come back again do this shenanigans again and to my surprise nothing works and the water collects on top no matter how carefully i pour the water and how slow i do it i did it in so many different ways non of it works anymore is that something happening to just me or the game patched this up and if they did patch it any other way to do this ? not just get fuel but any other way to actually do the trick again? bcs i like the concept and it makes me work for it unlike just giving it to my self using commands or mining it which is a pain

iirc Frackin Universe makes it not work

you can use the vanilla /fuel command to spawn 1000 erchius at your cursor iirc

/spawnitem fillerup 9999999 '{"maxStack":999999} will set you up with enough fuel for life

is there a possible way by any chance to break fracking universe and bend the rules a bit and make this trick work? rather than spawning it i like having an actual factory in there xD i went through the trouble of upscaling it too spawning it seems too easy
