Stationing missiles in the west would just cover more parts of Poland but there‘s already Kaliningrad for that
I suddenly feel a creeping feeling of dread
I think it is just scaring tactics
Honestly, they‘re trying to scare people
Cold War 2, electric boogaloo
Except this time we have an unstable Russia
It’s working on me somewhat
It‘s mainly Ukraine that‘s threatened by this deployment and even so, they already share a border with Russia so it doesn’t change much other than make it easier to bomb Kyiv
It is scary, I agree, even with nukes in Kaliningrad already being a thing
I don’t mean the range, I’m more scared about Putin even considering them
With icbms they could hit anywhere on the planet anytime
Yeah but he and other officials have threatened other countries with them for more than a year now
And I remember reading a FT article about the beginning of the war which said that Putin had people wargame using nukes
But this time it’s Putin directly, and he’s actually somewhat doing something to conceal his bluff
But all the simulations ended poorly for him
It’s an escalation
It certainly is
I really don’t like this
And it‘s a violation of the Lisbon protocol which states that Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus must remain nuke-free
I won’t stop supporting Ukraine, at all
I’ll just hope Putin still has a bit of rational thinking left in his brain
^^
He isn't stupid, but does have his own opinions that are extremely wrong
I think that this perpetual state of war actually benefits him because it‘s an excuse for even more repressions
Yeah
They don't do it if there is no benefits
And using nukes is just suicide because it is an open way of sending an invitation to entire world to destroy Russia
That reasoning won’t always hold up. At the worst possible scenario, there’s a plot within Russia to overthrow Putin and he’s doing this either to hold the world at gunpoint or to threaten them.
That isn’t really realistic, but we aren’t privy to every piece of data, and he may not be acting rationally
What I’m saying is, nukes are very dangerous and every possible scenario should be considered
I agree with you, I think it‘s just difficult to find the right balance here between just outright ignoring those nukes and letting nuclear powers do anything because they have nukes
In the end, the threat of nukes is always there, and a factor to consider but not the only one
I think Russia also has this general habit of boasting about the might of its weapons even if it doesn’t actually intend to use them, which is ultimately rooted in domestic propaganda. I think the map shows pretty well that it‘s mainly Ukraine that is threatened by this, but it‘s nothing that Kaliningrad or the Russian oblasts near the border couldn’t achieve before (especially since they have not just Iskander systems but ICBMs at their disposal there)
Nukes are both a blessing and a curse (mostly a curse, but at least WW3 hasn’t happened yet)
1984 kind of shit
see the latest NFKRZ latest vid
It would be a particularly flashy suicide.
To preserve his power Putin needs to either win this war, which is unlikely, or extend it until his death. Striking Ukraine with nukes isn't winning. It still technically a local territorial conflict and using nuclear weaponry in it would be an unprecedented event, that will put all civilized world against him. At best it will completely destroy Russian economy, at worst, well, I doubt a lot of people would wish to live next to a trigger happy monkey with a grenade.
Either way too much of a mess, too much escalation. That doesn't line with how Putin conducted his policy up until now. He is more of a corrupt crook, than a mad warlord.
True but the thing is we as normal people who just live life we shouldn't consider the scenarios
Because we have only public information we really can't make anything out of it and especially what will happen in the future
Sure it is really fun to speculate and do these stuff but if you go too deep and overthink too much about it then it does bring a lot of fear what can happen in the future
I’m sad that we won’t get a new kraut vid this month, but breaks are important
😔
I can understand it
He’s been pumping out a good video every month for 8 months
That gets tiring
he not only writes and edits them, but also draws a lot of the countryball panels so I get the burnout
kraut is a youtuber yeah?
Yes
I only know about Perun and Lazerpig lol
I know both of them
its been months since I watched Perun's vids, I just can't find the time to sit through an hour of that with my smol attention span brain
“Where’s the subway surfers how can I watch this?”
I sometimes watch them when I got some lunch to eat

Well I guess we'll get Finland, I feel bad for Sweden :( think about it they will be completely surrounded by NATO
Sweden is still blocked by Turkey yeah?
And Hungary
yeah expected
It sucks because they both wanted to join together
2 bloody dictators
I think Sweden will be able to join at some point
Turkey is having a big election come up
I dont have much hopes
And the current guy isn't looking good to stay in power after the earthquake
Seeing how Hungary didnt vote out Orban
Erdogan didn't do a good job handling the disaster?
Apparently a lot are upset of his handling of it
well hopefully he gets voted out
next year it's gonna be a President, Government and EU parliament votes in Lithuania
this year was local government elections
seeing how dumb people voted this year, I'm kinda bracing myself to be disappointed with next year

While the West is unified in its support for Ukraine, sentiment among Putin's allies has recently begun to divide with many distancing themselves from Russia. So why is this? And what does this say about Russia's geopolitical prospects after the war?
💬 Twitter: https://twitter....
Amazing, every single word in that tweet is the opposite of reality
if only they posted a day later lol
True!
We can believe they did in our hearts
Oh wait humour doesn't exist there
To be fair nothing has changed. The UN's other institutions have been able to do things since Russia president or not has veto power in the UNSC
i mean thats just a given
For good or for ill
The role is mostly procedural, but Moscow's ambassador to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, told the Russian Tass news agency that he planned to oversee several debates, including one on arms control
Huh
Oh girl its you, that I lie with, as the atom bomb locks in
I just thought didn’t we have Russia as president either when the invasion happened or sometime after? I feel like I remember that
Also the UN has helped with that evacuation of Mariupol, help get that grain deal to happen alongside Turkey, the IAEA has been on the ground helping with the nuclear plant, and other things I’m not thinking of
So I wouldn’t say they are useless. Even with the limits they have, they still do quite a bit that no one else is doing.
Also I’m down for some arms control. Maybe Russia could stop sending arms to Ukraine :p by leaving the country
Like Russia is getting upset at us giving Ukraine tanks, bruh you’ve been doing that before us
Just checked and yes, they had the presidency in February last year
That‘s a fair point
Although I think the US and Russia previously mainly used bilateral treaties for arms control
A pro-Kremlin propagandist has been killed in a bomb blast in #Russia. Vladlen Tatarsky, who had over 560,000 followers on Telegram, was blown up at a cafe in St Petersburg when a bomb hidden in a statue he'd been gifted exploded. https://t.co/eOtlYCWqaU

Well I think Russia wants more than just the US with how other countries have sent aid to Ukraine
I mean, yeah, the US is kinda just the stand-in for everyone to them

Nice
Yeeep it's happening
Finland just officially joined NATO with the handing over of the instrument of accession to US Secretary of State Blinken
31!!!
for some reason I'm surprised that Austria isn't in NATO
Austria had to write into their constitution that they couldnt join an alliance in exchenge got their independence.
Correct me if im wrong
I know Switzerland has that idk about Austria
Let's get San Marino 🇸🇲 in nato :p that would be based
I wonder if the EU becomes a military power would the EU join NATO
I just find it funny everything Russia has built up has fallen apart. The EU has gotten stronger, NATO has a purpose against, neutral countries have sanctioned Russia, Finland and Sweden wanna join NATO, Serbia has said Donbas and Crimea are Ukraine and is leaning to the EU
Kazakhstan and a lot of Central Asia are re thinking their relationship with Russia. Armenia feels betrayed
Moldova and Ukraine are now EU candidates
Europe is moving away from Russian gas
All the UN votes against Russia, the ICC warrant for Putin
Belarusians have turned more anti Russia
Russia has been shown to be a horrible military power and a terrorist state
Lots of people are leaving Russia
Russia was kicked out of the Council of Europe
And the UN human rights council
Businesses have left Russia
They been kicked out of swift; the economy crapped out, the currency isn't doing great. They are getting banned from sports organizations, the OSCE definitely has a purpose
Is there anything I'm missing
baltic states no longer fear an invasion lol
I honestly still don't understand what Putin was thinking
I heard that nato just doubled their artillery supply
Oh guys don’t worry it was just a “evaluation”
practically all EU countries are already a member of NATO
out of the 27 EU member states 22 are in NATO
How did it actually go up first
Russia doing everything in its power to control its currency through a bunch of restrictive actions and short term solutions
I'm not much of an economist, but I imagine they just cant keep it artificially inflated anymore
Oh wow alright
Europe's no longer buying energy is prob one of the reasons
And oil
oh what
but doesn't Sweden still needs accepts from other countries?
I think it was like Turkey and Hungary
are reddit posts fine?

Take Medvedev's latest rant seriously. Underneath the unhinged hyperbole is a coherent commitment to the complete destruction of the Ukrainian nation that's neither new, nor his alone. You cannot negotiate a compromise w a modicum of credibility when this is Ru's goal.

Yeah even by Medvedev‘s standards this is bad
i cant believe just 10 years ago I thought he was real chill

Yeah idk either, I‘ll look into later because I remember hearing that he was quite liberal back then
and he was president just cuz Putin wanted to avoid the term limit lmao

Medvedev is basically Putins thoughts but coming from someone you can deny or call crazy just in case
medvedev's the pinky to putin's brain

I honestly think Kadyrov does something similar
That’s a funny way to say it
Only saying the insane stuff he does because he is not in a position where there are that many consequences
Not really. Medvedev is just a lapdog, barking at whoever his owner tells him to. Kadyrov is a dictator in his own right, with his own territory where he does whatever the fuck he wants, his own political prisoners, his own hitmen. Generally he is even more of a stereotypical dictator than Putin is as he doesn't bother to hide it.

With respect to the Russo-Ukrainian war TLDR:
Good news: Russians forces have a higher casualty ratio than estimated, the Russians forces are also low on armour.
Bad news: The Ukrainian forces are running low on medium range air defence missiles. Estimated to run out by late May if not resupplied.

Russia has lost 10,000+ military vehicles since its illegal invasion of Ukraine began, according to tracker Oryx. It has also fired most of its modern cruise missiles- for little strategic gain.
Russia is now scrambling to mobilise its defence industry
🇺🇦 #StandWithUkraine🇺🇦
I am still weirded out when people call it an "illegal invasion"
To think that an armed full scale invasion of a sovereign country could ever be justified is so far beyond my comprehension that I can't imagine anyone calling anytjing a "legal invasion"
I guess "legal invasion" would count if your ally gets invaded so you counter invade?
Sounds like how the Romans would, according to them, only ever conquer in self defense
“They were going to attack us so we conquered them and destroyed their entire civilization before they could do it, trust me”
There’s a concept called "Just cause", and ultimately it boils down to the Responsibility to Protect, which is the commitment of all countries to prevent genocide etc.
Note that an armed intervention is the most serious step that can be taken in this context
Fair enough I didn't count counterattacks as invasions
My first thought was the just cause games lmao

How did that even happen accidentally
Also very surprising that Russia admitted
and didn't blame it on Ukraine
Either a malfunction and the bombs were dropped by accident or a pilot really messed up
Probably the first option tbh
It's not like the USA has never dropped an armed nuke on their city by accident
Yes this actually happened
wth I'm reading it rn and that's fascinating
I'm amazed how lucky that is
actually further in the article it says it takes multiple steps to arm a nuke and the nukes weren't armed
one had bomb's parachute safeguard system
second one landed in mud and somehow didn't explode
Yeah
And if there is such incompetence in the USA then Ruzzians bombing their own city by accident kinda pales in comparaison tbh
yeahh I agree
I think that's what scares me most about the nukes
It's the fact that they are held by "oops we dropped it" people on one side and "let's dig trenches in the red forest!" dudes on the other
Pure incompetence will kill us all
this is the same city where multiple Ukrainian missiles and drones hit because whoever controls the air defences is constantly asleep at their controls
Nine New Ukrainian mechanised, assault and tank brigades are staffed and equipped - says general Milley of the US.
That means around :

- 300 mortars
- 35000 personnel

Putin has signed a decree that approves expelling Inhabitants of Russia's "new territories" who do not want Russian citizenship
251
with which way do they mean with expelling
"expelled" aka exiled to siberia, same thing they done before (my grandparents included)
one of my great grandparents was sent to a gulag
my grandparent was sent as a child, lost 2 older brothers
grandmother dodged by hiding at neighbours, but her sister and mother were unfortunately sent
my great grandfather has a kinda crazy story
afaik he was one of the Kulaks, and initially resisted collectivization
at some point after already being exiled for a bit once, he kinda decided to join with the communists since he thought it was the only way he could survive
ended up becoming the head of a collective farm
then someone accused him of being a spy and he was sent to a gulag where he stayed until Stalin died, was released, then died of something he caught in the camp
that side of my family had to hide that they were related to him because it was a very bad thing to be "family of a traitor"

poor dude prob has to look at all the memes in the replies

I can't imagine how anyone might think that talking about "exterminating poles like stinky rats" makes Russia look less like a terrorist state
I think it might just be a regular aide with no particular training in social media

really impressive if Ukrainian air defense is working that well
Any more info on how bad it is?
they shot down 15 of the 18 missiles, it says
what about them? they used Tu-95 nuclear bombers to shoot the missiles
they being the russians
apparantly those planes can hold up to 170 missiles but only caried 1-2, probably to preserve them for the ukranian counteroffensive
Ah that is how they did it

After more creeping advances, it appears that Wagner's progress in Bakhmut has once again stalled and, to make matters worse for the Kremlin, Ukraine has launched its own counter-attack. So in this video, we break down the most recent updates in Bakhmut.

Reportedly, this is the moment when a drone hit the Kremlin.
The Kremlin is being fenced off after today's drone attack. Official version - preparations for the 9th May parade.
People can be seen on the roof of Senate palace which was damaged in the drone attack.
@kromark @Poikamaalta @SimpleRocketman Looked around on the wire services to see if anyone got an image showing damage to the dome from that first hit.
This photo from Getty/Anadolu Agency shows what looks like some burn marks on part of the dome near the stairway/catwalk. http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/1252568967

There's a lot of speculation about the drone hitting the Kremlin, does anyone have a reliable source which sheds light on who's actually behind that attack?
west says it's a false flag, dunno what that would achieve
kremlin says it was Ukraine, which is so astronomically unlikely that they got 2 tiny drones to fly 100s of kilometers into the very "heart" of russia, the most guarded place in the country, and no air defence shot them down?
I remember a couple months back they installed AA batteries on some government buildings in Moscow too
if it was truly Ukrainian UAVs, that's so pathetic on Russia's part lmao
I'm inclined to believe it was just a false flag, the explosion yield was tiny
It's like the sinking of Moskva again
Was it sunk by a storm or by Ukraine either way it is humiliating for Russia
Was the drone a Ukrainian toy that flew 1000km over protected area and AA or was it a false flag both make them look like either fools or liars
I mean, even if it was a false flag, it feels kinda weird that they would hit the Kremlin with a false flag operation
but such an attack also doesn't benefit Ukraine at all
Other sources suppose it could have also been anti-Putin dissidents not affiliated with Ukraine. This also raises a lot of questions about the Kremlin's security not functioning, but dissidents seem to have a more plausible motive and the Ukrainian government tends not to deny their operations when they're successful.
tl;dr atm no one seems to know.
honestly that was one of the other things I was thinking
also reminds me of that time some person flew a Cessna into the red square iirc
Some Russian media sources have claimed this drone attack was a Ukrainian attempt on Putin's life, despite him not being in the Kremlin during the attack, and the drone/grenade attack seeming rather underwhelming, dare I say amateurish.
Is this Putin's paranoia or is it a false-flag attempt to fabricate a justification for assassination attempts on Ukrainian government officials? Would the Russian state even bother with justifying escalation at this point if it makes their internal security look weak? Is the Russian state more concerned with hiding internal plots, and pretending they're external threats?

Apparently the Ukrainians are still pushing to encircle parts of Bakhmut
So far no confirmed news but it would be extremely funny historically speaking is Russians got Stalingraded there after 9 months-long siege
What’s goin on in bakhmut?
I keep hearing mentions of something going on there but I haven’t found an explanation about it yet
From what I've understood after pushing the Ukrainians a few hundred meters further the Russians have claimed victory and Ukrainians are basically like "it's not over yet" and are pushing on the flanks
Hmm, interesting
But basically nothing has changed, Bahmut isn't really a city anymore so it's not like Russians waving their flag a few meter in one direction or the other is particularly game changing
So average day in bakhmut
basically yeah
Man I can't even imagine how they were feeling o7

lots of drama in the LT government, but otherwise there is gonna be a Nato Summit this summer
looks like a legion fighting on ukraine's side from russia are entering russia to cause some noise
Same, I don’t think it’ll last long but any partisan activities are welcome
I'm very curious how Russia will react
will they try to kill them all or do it more peaceful way
Probably blame it on Ukraine and crack down on any dissent
probably
“Peaceful”
“Russia”
They’re not gonna do this peacefully
yeah probably not
I was just thinking for a second maybe they would because they are Russians
Them being Russians would give them a worse sentence tbh
yeah that is why I think they will just imprison them and not kill them
These authoritarian regimes don’t want there to be ANY dissent in their population
Especially in their primary demographic
I don’t know if prison is a better or worse fate
I know it’s just a freedom movement, but anyone that says “do not resist and do not be afraid” does not come with the cleanest of intentions
ngl normally a worse fate but right now in current situation there is hope if you go to prison
There is a high chance of Russia changing in the next 20 years
because of this situation
Yeah long term stability is pretty much out of the question
For Russia there’s gonna be a new sub era called the “post Putin”, Russia will change big time until another old person who remembers the “glory days” of the Soviet Union comes around and starts cracking down again
That’s what I’m expecting
More of the same
It’s just a climate that kinda invites corruption, the older generation grew up in times where people starved to death, and now because of better living conditions, people die because of obesity related issues, the older generation are often content as they see this as the better alternative even if the younger generation are being sent to a war that essentially is a chicken fight between the Russians and the West
The new leaders won’t be the 30 year olds, it’ll be the 60-70 year old who replaces Putin
That's sadly the truth
Yep, they’ll be out of touch autocrats
Like every politician in Russia
damn my "following" tab on twitter is now worth looking at since something's actually happening actively

My tinfoil hat theory is they're dragging some forces from Ukraine so that the counteroffensive is slightly easy, but there are some ru forces stationed in Russia itself

If the source is coming from the Russian state, it isn’t reliable
Read it and judge for yourself
Mate the only source this bbc article gives about the casualties is russian
Like... it's not hard. It's literally the first paragraph
your point being? I know the source is russian, i sent the article and said judge for yourself
no need to be all condesending
You've sent it as an answer to someone else claiming russian sources are unreliable I assumed your point was that since bbc wrote it it's confirmed 🤷♂️
Let's not argue about this at this point
Like we will see an answer about this somewhere this week anyway
well my national news just release a raport an hour ago that they are still alive 'n kicking and that the initial operation went a lot better than expected
cant be bothered to translate but here https://nos.nl/artikel/2476338-grootse-plannen-bij-russische-rebellen-inval-ging-beter-dan-verwacht
Dank u wel NOS :)
well the rebels say it's false info, one can assume the actual truth lies somewhere in the middle of the statements
since both parties do have a vested interest in not being truthful
Lukashenko:
Yeah I'm so happy about this
oh god
Belarus after acquiring nuclear weapons: Lol we lied, we are on NATO side now

Taliban soldiers entered Iran today and attacked an Iranian military base.
At least 3 people have been killed in today’s border clashes between Iran and Afghanistan.
Wasn’t a good idea for Iran to send their suicide drones to Russia…

I'm not sure they ever did considering they planned to pull out of the war the moment they took over bakhmut
Even for me 🤩 ?
👉👈
One Russian newspaper today comments on Yevgeny Prigozhin’s recent interview: “Other Russians would be fined or sent to prison for a fraction of what he said.” #ReadingRussia
How bad of a shape is Wagner in rn
Equipment wise, not that great, Prigozhin spent months bitching that his "private" army wasn't getting enough equipment and ammo from the government, but personnel wise they're probably doing fine, they got an endless supply of prisoners they recruit to then throw into the meat grinder, while keeping their well trained men behind
Aren’t prison recruitment rates going down?
Because prisoners are starting to realize that it’s practically a suicide mission
Probably
Leave Bakhmut to then focus on other places, the dude mentions Odesa and Kyiv lmao
I mean, they‘ve got their entire Africa „business“ too
If I remember correctly he was barred from recruiting in prisons a while ago, I need to check later
Interesting…
Yeah Prigozhin is in quite a weird position as the newspaper articles in that linked tweet point out as well
Russia-ukrainian war became position-based with time, with russians changing their tactics from blitzkrieg to wide front offensives. History truly repeats itself: everything is held by rules of WW1, but the weapons are far more destructive.. Though, despite harsh conditions for war against one of the biggest countries in the world, ukrainian sol...

What do schoolchildren and students in your countries dream about?
In Russia, due to propaganda, many young people dream of being at war - to go kill, torture and rob people in another country.

Russian channels are saying that air defenses around Moscow are trying to shoot down UAVs. They look like the same UAVs used in Krasnodar and one was reportedly armed with a KZ-6.

An angry statement from Prigozhin regarding the unexplained incident with unidentified UAVs that crashed in Moscow this morning.
Today's unexplained incident in Moscow is properly sending shockwaves through the Russian info sphere. Girkin shares someone's opinion that Russian channels linked to the gov-t are working overtime to downplay the impact of the event. The post says the references to 1941 and 1812…

same people that will use iranian shahed suicide drones on commercial targets btw ^
Did Putin just blow shit up in his own city
Cuz Ukraine would not have launched drones at the apartment blocks it's just not there MO
Ether that or the Russian AA is so incompetent that we really should not be afraid of mutually assured destruction
im not sure, some say it was a false flag, like Putin did 2 decades ago to justify the Chechen war, others say it's Ukrainian, but that would be such an embarassment that their AA defences only work like 500km into the country near it's capital, like are the cities between ukraine and moscow undefended?
I mean just looking at how much of Russia Ukraine would be able to hit without the protection of AA if this is true is embracing
So I am still calling fals flag if he calls for a second round of conscription in the next week ill know for sure
definitely possible seeing how Russia handled the Moscow theater hostage crisis and Beslan school siege
or how FSB was planting bombs in apartments and blowing them up
"special operations for thee not for me" energy

I was reminded of this with regards to the drone strikes in moscow
god damn reading the messages around that time is quite something
South Africa said it will provide diplomatic immunity to attendees of two meetings of officials from the BRICS group of countries — a practice the government said is routine — as it prepares to host Russian President Vladimir Putin at a summit in August.

Yeah no South Africa was never planning to arrest him this is just to deter local government from doing it

I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video I will tell you what happened...
This is amusing, even if it’s just a few villages. Russia’s tactics against Ukraine are being used against them.
German chancellor Scholz speaks out against people calling for an end to weapons aid to Ukraine
Crowd calls Scholz a "warmonger", Scholz responds.
Putin would probably be more tempted to prey on defenseless nations. Russia honestly needs their ass handed to them for the past century of terrorizing other nations and ethnicities.
TV channels hacked in Crimea, broadcast video about upcoming Ukrainian counteroffensive
Russian propagandist has reached a disappointing (only for them) conclusion: “Russia now has no resources to establish control over Ukraine.”
Defeatism is seeping through the cracks on Russian TV?

Massive fireworks in Belgorod.
it is official. After a 142% turnout in the Belgorod Peoples Republic Referendum 99.4% have voted to depart from Russia. Fanatical crowds are cheering "Long Live the BRP" https://t.co/5M9zL7SojK

I suspect Belgorod’s capital will be attacked soon https://twitter.com/BPRDefenseHQ/status/1665138037754327041

Will Belgorod actually become a part of Ukraine now
oh wait nvm

#BREAKING: Nova Kakhovka dam has been blown up in southern Ukraine video shows
Can anyone confirm this?
Yeah, unfortunately https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-europe-65816109
I’m not THAT surprised tbh
https://vxtwitter.com/Gerashchenko_en/status/1665957716202868737?t=9qdDLSyTtOjNk4jrdncyTA&s=19 long tweet, see in browser
The destruction of Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant is a terrible technogenic, ecological and humanitarian catastrophe.
The aftermath of destroying the dam of Kakhovka HPP have been modeled previously - they are on…
Man, I cant wait for the rest of the world to strongly condem this act of terrorism and ecological destruction by sending strongly worded letters
Its really sad to see such a big and relatively undisturbed river delta destroyed. That ecosystem will probably take decades before its fully restored :(
Yeah this is quite bad
Even more shit for Ukraine to fix during reconstruction after the war
Oh. Um. Yeah. The dam is gone.
Any pretence that the Russians actually want to govern & develop what they occupy is now completely gone. #Kakhovka

ZAPORIZHZHIA NUCLEAR: LOSS OF KAKHOVKA DAM
Zaporizhzhia NPP, Europe's largest, draws cooling water from a reservoir whose dam is now severely damaged.
All six reactors are off & cold. Almost no cooling water needed.
Unfolding event, but not a serious risk for nuclear accident.

I can't imagine what it must be like to live in Kherson. Over the course of one year: Occupied, plundered, liberated, shelled, bombed, and now deliberately flooded.

I guess they got what they wanted, they got water in Crimea
In the beginning of the invasion they blew up a dam that kept water from crimea lol
oh I thought that was this dam that they wanted
I think it's a different one
oh wow so they really benefit nothing from this
except making the river wider
so minimal war advantage
ngl shows how desperate they are
Scenes of flooding in Kherson are spreading on Telegram. https://t.me/stranaua/108347?single
Additional footage from on top of the generator hall of the breached Kakhovka dam
Multiple pontoon bridges put in place by Russian forces and then abandoned upstream of the Antonovsky bridge are now pinned against the support pilings by the floodwaters steadily increasing on the Dnipro.
In fact the resevoir draining because of the destroyed dam will stop water from flowing to Crimea
Update to this thread I made over 2 years ago (roughly 11 months pre-invasion) isolating one of Russia’s motivators in it’s southern campaign in Ukraine, water:
The Crimean canal is now flowing backwards from Crimea into the Dnipro River.
