For context this is an opinion piece from Andrew Marr for the Statesman a centre-left political magazine in the UK.

Marr expresses doubts over either the Kremlin or Kyiv achieving a clean victory, but paraphrases Oleksiy Danilov (Ukrainian security adviser) that any form of partition like that of Korea during the Korean War, would only temporarily satiate Putin's ambitions (akin to Chamberlains appeasement of the Third Reich in partitioning Czechoslovakia During the 1938 Munich conference) and would have dire consequences for both Zelensky's government and the Ukrainian state's future.

However Marr goes onto state that the British government and public are overly optimistic about the length of the Ukrainian War and the future of the British economy and World economy - (one can infer this implies the British public and the world as a whole may become more self-centred and less interested in Ukraine repelling the Invaders overtime, so long as their living standards remain lower for multiple years).

The later part of the the video is highlighting the weakened state of the British armed forces on the international stage, due to long term underfunding (which is unlikely to change due to current state of the British economy). This will likely mean less valuable military support from Britain in the long-term as well.

I personally found Marr's outlook to be a bit overly pessimistic, but it is generally true the longer the War lasts the less interested the publics of countries fairly distant to the Ukrainian War will become.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of the talks between Russian and Chinese diplomats, hopefully just empty promises.

In my view it's in the best interests of the US and Ukraine to keep China as neutral as possible, maybe offering them the opportunity at the peace broker table if that keeps them from any form of intervention in the Russo-Ukrainian war (whether that's a morally justifiable position I'm not sure). However it seems to be in China's interests to let the Russians and 'the West' fight amongst themselves.

I now its wierd celebrating it but come on

I was on a buss going to Italy when the invasion was picking up i think it was day 5 or somting the anonymus atacks happend while we where driving true Germany was kinda cool watching it play out even with bad data conections

Whearing masks was still very much a ting for me last year crazy what all happend in 1year

I felt depressive especially thinking about my Ukrainian coworkers

It was kinda wild seeing it happen so fast on a nutoriosly slow website

I made a presentation about the news two weeks before the invasion where i had one slide about the "milletary exercise at the ukranian border" and where after i put the facts in order i said i tought Puting wouldent be stupid ebough to begin a war in Europe

I got dead glares from the one 1/4th Russian girl in my class for the rest of the day

I still think what if the war started a few days earlier
