@wartranslated I think you made mistake in translation of the most important part. I think he is not saying "2 nedeli do podgotovki" (2 weeks untill training). He is saying "2 nedeli dop podgotovki" (2 weeks of supplementery training). dop = dopołnitelnoy. And after 2 weeks formation of units.

I've got a few Ukrainian refugees at my work, one became my coworker and talked about how she got out of Kyiv, and another person who works on the other side of the shopping centre who's from Mariupol, and how that lady would hide in a basement for a month
Interesting
I haven’t seen a singular refugee here, but it really is interesting
what country do you live in?
most of the refugees have gone to nearby countries, here in Lithuania we have gotten over 66k
I’d be surprised and worried if we got a massive influx of refugees
That one didn’t make a picture thing, at least on my phone
you've got op geographical location, ain't nobody's gonna go through an ocean
yeah no embed on desktop either
just a concurrent stats page for Ukrainian war refugees
I’ll have a read
well, >99% of those refugees are Ukrainian
The rest are Russian, I’m assuming?
unsure, unlikely to have them called like that
especially now that visa travel for "tourists" are no longer given out to Russians
keep up with this thread then
My data is mostly outdated, and I haven’t been readings this thread either
Who’s winning
earlier this month, Ukraine had an amazing counter offensive in Kharkiv, liberating almost all of it, while Russians just fled and left a shit tonne of equipment and ammo, which will def be used against them now
Russia is holding a sham referendum in occupied territories to make them part of Russia, but obviously the votes will mostly be fake, and others are forced to sign under gunpoint
Putler also signed a "partial" mobilisation, and 300k men from across the country are gonna be sent to the meatgrinder
some source says the plan may go to up to 1 million people
This is getting out of hand
either way, many thousands of young men are fleeing the country
He’s desperate
it's quite a terrible time to live in that country
Hopefully Ukraine wins and gets rebuilt
it must
Or at least gets a ceasefire
ceasefire, unsure about that now
saying Ukrainians are pissed would be quite an understatement, they will not stop fighting until they get every inch of their land back
including Crimea
Well I applaud their effort, and at this rate, they might actually win
Pushing into Russia is a no go obviously
more heavy weaponry like tanks and MLRS would be very appreciated and speed up their progress
I heard that the air war was pretty stagnant
both sides have competent AA systems, and just today yet another Russian attack helicopter was blown up
so there's no air superiority on either side
Shame
(The air superiority, not the heli crash)
thank u u stupid idiots

Enerhodar, The first day of the pseudo-referendum. In the video, we see three collaborators, accompanied with two armed soldiers.
People tell how an armed Russian military man poked a piece of paper with the barrel of a machine gun and eloquently showed where exactly to tick.
It is obvious that the Ukrainian Enerhodar is not happy with such "guests". Empty streets. Locked apartments.
At the same time, information is already coming from those who were not lucky enough to meet with the "commission" in person.

As long as this is followed, its a practical move, as well as ethical
low morale poorly equipped russian soldiers, if given the chance to surrender and recieve at least tolerable and safe treatment in ukraine till the wars over

Russia sphere of infliemce 📉
one side doing a crime does not absolve the other
What a stupid tweeter as well
Retweet to show Amnesty International who the war criminals are.
Amnesty has, since before the war started, been extensively documenting and reporting russian war crimes
the SOLE PINNED TWEET on their twitter is an extensive breakdown and documentation, then condemnation, of russian war crimes In the war
To believe Amnesty does not care about russian war criminals is either to be absurdly naive, or actively acting in bad faith
prob the latter
A post from the start of the war
I still absolutely cannot believe these absolutely brainless takes
*Amnesty has changed the pinned tweet to one about Iran sometime within the last week, I apologise for the mistruth
They even published a correction following their unfortunate article about supposed Ukrainian endangering of civilians
But people didn't seem to notice and still spew hatred on them
I mean, it's not supposed. They pointed out real and factual instances of violations of the laws of war, and produced a balanced and fair article about it.
Such as?
https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2022/08/ukraine-ukrainian-fighting-tactics-endanger-civilians/ - for your convenience
[I'm leaving the house shortly so reply may be delayed]
Well it kinda sounds like they were just complaining about Ukrainians engaging in urban warfare which is an amazingly naive take given the situation. Not only is urban warfare NOT a warcrime in itself but also Ukrainian desperate defense in the early days of the war saved many cities from Russian borderline genocidal occupation. Also the part about soldiers hiding in schools and hospitals has been questionned A LOT from what I've seen with said buldings being most often previously evacuated.
Finally there is a problem with the way their report is structured. Adding a few lines in the end saying that it's still Russia's fault is not enough and it gave Putin free propaganda ammo and an occasion to shift the blame away
Oh and also following the backclash the head of Ukrainian branch of Amnesty resigned citing general ignorance and disregard of the higher ups so there is that too
Here is an article from said head of Ukrainian branch of Amnesty
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/08/13/amnesty-ukraine-civilians-at-risk-why-i-quit/
The report is not complaining about "Ukrainians engaging in urban warfare"
Under the laws of war, reasonable action must be taken to avoid urban properties, where there are possible alternatives.
The report goes on to mention Most residential areas where soldiers located themselves were kilometres away from front lines. Viable alternatives were available that would not endanger civilians – such as military bases or densely wooded areas nearby, or other structures further away from residential areas.
This clearly states that the issue is Ukrainian soldiers occupying residential area's for military use in area's where suitable alternatives were available, and these were not area's on the frontlines.
The report further notes
In the cases it documented, Amnesty International is not aware that the Ukrainian military who located themselves in civilian structures in residential areas asked or assisted civilians to evacuate nearby buildings
Militaries, when occupying a resident area, should always try to their upmost to clear civilians away from the area, this is ESPECIALLY the case if these are not at the front line, and where there is reasonable alternative.
While, yes, there is not a specific law against this, the report never claims it is in violation of the laws of war. Rather it states these actions are partaking in a failure to take all feasible precautions to protect civilians.
International law does, however requires all parties to a conflict to avoid locating, to the maximum extent feasible, military objectives within or near densely populated areas.
The locating of military forces, away from the front, in residential area's, when feasible alternatives where available, show a clear violation of these requirements.
This was not just "in the early days of the war", as amnesty documented in early july
In early July, a farm worker was injured when Russian forces struck an agricultural warehouse in the Mykolaiv area. Hours after the strike, Amnesty International researchers witnessed the presence of Ukrainian military personnel and vehicles in the grain storage area, and witnesses confirmed that the military had been using the warehouse, located across the road from a farm where civilians are living and working.
Or, on the 18th May,
Three residents told Amnesty International that before the strike, Ukrainian forces had been using a building across the street from the bombed building, and that two military trucks were parked in front of another house that was damaged when the missile hit. Amnesty International researchers found signs of military presence in and outside the building, including sandbags and black plastic sheeting covering the windows, as well as new US-made trauma first aid equipment.```
The use of hospitals for military purposes is **illegal**, regardless of if they have been prior evacuated. It is a violation of international law in every and all cases.
However, amnesty documented it on multiple occasions
```Amnesty International researchers witnessed Ukrainian forces using hospitals as de facto military bases in five locations. In two towns, dozens of soldiers were resting, milling about, and eating meals in hospitals. In another town, soldiers were firing from near the hospital.```
A Russian air strike on 28 April injured two employees at a medical laboratory in a suburb of Kharkiv after Ukrainian forces had set up a base in the compound.
There is no blanket international ban on Schools, however, there is a legal obligation to avoid using schools that are near houses or apartment buildings full of civilians, putting these lives at risk, unless there is a compelling military need.
And, if there is such a need, they have a requirement to warn, and assist civilian evacuation. Amnesty state that it does not appear to have happened, but it is important to note they do not word this definitively.
Ukraine is a participant in the Safe Schools International Declaration, which states they can only use evacuated schools when there is no possible alternative
Also, as for the point about the structure. As well as the long section at the bottom, the article notes Four other times about Russia's war crimes, including a hyperlink to their full report on Ukraine, including 64 Articles, almost all covering Russian war crimes
An article pointing out Ukranian war crimes, after the Ukrainian military refused to talk and co-operate with amnesty international is not "propaganda".
Ukraine has as much requirement to fair treatment and Human Rights as any other nation does. The laws of war and the rights of civilians must always be respected. You do not get to ignore the laws just because you are the defenders. No man is above the law.
Yes, some actors were spinning this as propaganda, however They will do that regardless of what you say. People have been pointing out the russian embassy in London as an example of "This tweet allowing pro-Russian propaganda", however they USED PHOTO EDITING TO FABRICATE THE REPORT. By the time the report has already been photo edited to remove certain words and fabricate details.... can you really say the report is at fault???? They would have spinner propaganda completely irrespective of what you said, it's how bad faith actors work. If I used inspect element to change your message, I could not then use that fabricated screenshot as evidence to this servers mods, because it was fabricated by me, and not a real thing being shown.
While it is regrettable that the Ukrainian Branch resigned, I do not particularly believe this to be negative. If they are unwilling to stand by and defend human rights when it is their own flag being blamed, perhaps they should not be tasked with human rights, when they place those second to the colour of a cloth flag being waived by those who violate them.
The Washington post report contains factual inaccuracies and mis-truths from the Ukrainian writer, however there are some good points made, particularly about the failure to follow established protocol from the Amnesty International Office.
No man, woman, or otherwise, is above the law. We all have a duty to protect the innocent, irregardless of context. Ukraine, like Russia, or China, or the USA, or Syria or Iraq or ANY NATION INVOLVED IN CONFLICT, has a sworn duty to protect civilians and the innocents, and when they fail to do that, unbiased human rights defenders have a duty to call them out on their failings, such that they may improve their ways.
That is all I have to say on the matter. I will not be following this up nor answering questions.
Most residential areas where soldiers located themselves were kilometres away from front lines. Viable alternatives were available that would not endanger civilians – such as military bases or densely wooded areas nearby, or other structures further away from residential areas.
As far as I know the AI don't have experts on military strategy in their team so this claim is at best an opinion
In the cases it documented, Amnesty International is not aware that the Ukrainian military who located themselves in civilian structures in residential areas asked or assisted civilians to evacuate nearby buildings
Well this claim is nothing more than argument from ignorance. Especially since we DO know that Ukrainian government has been encouraging general evacuation, and if we believe Oksana Pokalchuk the AI team has made insufficient effort to gather such information
The locating of military forces, away from the front, in residential area's, when feasible alternatives where available, show a clear violation of these requirements.
What alternatives are you talking about? Russians are attacking cities not empty pieces of land or "dense forests". I didn't find the example they cited convincing
This was not just "in the early days of the war"
I do not think these examples are proof of Ukrainian tendency to put civilians in danger. They should also be disputed on a cade by case basis instead of being universally condemned. It is highly debatable whether these actions represent a direct danger to civilians considering Russia's policy of indiscriminate bombardment and many other factors
The use of hospitals for military purposes is illegal, regardless of if they have been prior evacuated. It is a violation of international law in every and all cases.
As far as I know this is factually incorrect. https://genevasolutions.news/peace-humanitarian/ukraine-is-targeting-hospitals-always-a-war-crime
Hospitals used this way do lose their protected status and can be attacked as a normal target tho but if they were evacuated previously there is no direct endangerment of civilians
Black smoke rising over a grey sky. The images on social media all look the same. Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, web users, several NGOs as well as the Ukrainian foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, have claimed there have been airstrikes hitting hospitals or their surroundings.
The prosecutor of the International Criminal C...
And, if there is such a need, they have a requirement to warn, and assist civilian evacuation. Amnesty state that it does not appear to have happened, but it is important to note they do not word this definitively.
As I already said. Their effort in procuring this information is highly debatable
Also, as for the point about the structure. As well as the long section at the bottom, the article notes Four other times about Russia's war crimes, including a hyperlink to their full report on Ukraine, including 64 Articles, almost all covering Russian war crimes
Well yes they do this all the while keeping an inflammatory headline and an easily manipulatable (is that a real word?) text.
An article pointing out Ukranian war crimes, after the Ukrainian military refused to talk and co-operate with amnesty international is not "propaganda".
The AI has made no proof of supposed Ukrainian uncooperativness and if we trusk Oksana this was a result of their bad communication as well as a the mere 3-day long delay between their accusation s and the publication of their article.
Ukraine has as much requirement to fair treatment and Human Rights as any other nation does. The laws of war and the rights of civilians must always be respected. You do not get to ignore the laws just because you are the defenders. No man is above the law. Yes, some actors were spinning this as propaganda, however They will do that regardless of what you say...
I do agree that the outrage was stupidly disproportional but I think the article was written in a very naive way and was particularly easy to manipulate. Blatant lies are easily disputed and ignored. Cherrypicking of quotes is much harder to debunk and dismiss
While it is regrettable that the Ukrainian Branch resigned, I do not particularly believe this to be negative. If they are unwilling to stand by and defend human rights when it is their own flag being blamed, perhaps they should not be tasked with human rights, when they place those second to the colour of a cloth flag being waived by those who violate them.
Excuse me what? Did you read what they had to say? You do realize people's opinions on moral issues differ right? I feel like you are describing a nationalistic maniac instead of acperson who disagrees with the methodology and approach of their higher ups...
however there are some good points made, particularly about the failure to follow established protocol from the Amnesty International Office.
Why do you defend this report then if you yourself agree that it has methodological problems? I am honestly confused here. If even parts of what Oksana said are true this whole article is undermined.
No man, woman, or otherwise, is above the law. We all have a duty to protect the innocent, irregardless of context. Ukraine, like Russia, or China, or the USA, or Syria or Iraq or ANY NATION INVOLVED IN CONFLICT, has a sworn duty to protect civilians and the innocents, and when they fail to do that, unbiased human rights defenders have a duty to call them out on their failings, such that they may improve their ways.
Yes I 100% agree but we need to be careful not to fall for the "both sides" fallacy. Yes Ukraine has not been perfect. Nobody is. Yes their situation does not justify any missteps. Publishing a half-assed report is not a solution tho. If anything they should be much more meticulous in their study. If anything they've actually made the situation worse since now other reports of endangered civilians will be seen through the lense of this cathastrophical study
These images are starting to appear on twitterr
I'll wait for better confirmation, but it does seem Kupyansk has been liberated
I find it kind of funny just to see so many switches between Cyrillic and Romanized versions of the same words, or their Russian or Ukrainian spellings
I wish there was another country Edward could be in
Why now
His morals are completely fucked, yeah he did an amazing thing exposing US fucked uppery, but chose to live in a country that's guilty of just as many sins
well I mean the only reason he's there is that he knows they won't expedite him to the US
He's okay with living in a country currently in acting out several different genocides in the name of its own imperialism
Shit sucks man
I mean where else is he's supposed to go, lets be fair
Yeah
I mean we know the justice system here isn't exactly known to be fair, I wish he could just have political asylum somewhere else but there's not to many places that won't just instantly send him back to the US
I'm more worried that they are gonna use him as leverage to make a deal with the US
like stop the sanctions and we will send him back
Would be ironic if he gets drafted tomorrow
I mean knowing Russia that wouldn't shock me
because I mean if he does have Russian citizenship technically that is possible - _-
not a great situation to be in
since also he can't even speak out against the war or about anything because they will just tell him they are gonna send him back to the US
there's no way Russia is doing thing because they are finally allowing him to live there as a political asylum seeker
ofc it can just be coincidence but just seems pretty sus it happens now after Ukraine is pushing more
Russia says it is willing to engage in talks with Ukraine, but demands unspecified "new conditions" before the talks can be held.
they can go fuck themselves with their new conditions
He didn't chose it
if he moves literally anywhere else he'll be sent to america
likely tortured/"extensively interrogated" and will rot in a cell for decades
its a shame he can't go anywhere else, but not his fault
Also worth knowing he moved to Russia in 2013
before the conflict in donbass or the annexation of crimea
I wish he could be literally anywhere else, but I'm not gonna blame a man for what was out of his control
I think it’s possible that Russia is only giving him citizenship right now just so that they can draft him. Maybe not likely, but I think there’s a chance that’s the case.
I doubt it
he's worth far more alive then as a single soldier
he's still an incredibly gifted mind when it comes to intelligence and computer systems
Huh, if only there was a nation founded on the principle of accepting immigrants /s
😭
I had literally never heard of that person until today
Snowden never planned to stay in russia
He planned to go to Ecuador via Russia and Cuba
but america cancelled his passport
Maybe now he's a Russian citizen he can get a Russian passport,, but that's wishful thinking
Ecuador might not host him but Cuba probably will
Anyways I somehow doubt Russia is granting him citizenship “out of the kindness of their heart”, I’m pretty sure there’s some other motivation.
Cuba is a damn sight better place to Be in then russia
oh yeah, there'll be some plan or catch
On 1 July 2013, president Evo Morales of Bolivia, who had been attending a conference of gas-exporting countries in Russia, gave an interview to the RT television network in which he appeared predisposed to offer asylum to Edward Snowden. The day after his TV interview, Morales' Dassault Falcon 900 FAB-001, carrying him back to La Paz from Mosco...
The west did everything they could to stop Snowden moving west
The president of Bolivias plane was forced to land in Austria, after Italy, France and Spain all closed their airspace to it, believing Snowden on board
The man was stuck between a rock and a hard place
yep
I mean working at NSA I bet he rather not be in Russia
he's very much critical of the war in ukraine
though doesn't express it often, for very obvious reasons
he almost certainly does not want to live there, but is stuck between a rock and a hard place
yeah I mean all Russia has to do is say get out
yup
and, even if russia allowed him to do so, trying to attempt a flight to South America would be dangerous as fuck
ofc I hope they are just awarding him his political asylum, since thats his right in the UN's Universal Decleration of Human Rights....but Russia hasn't had to best track record for international law lately
I don't put it beyond the United States to ground that jet by any means necessary
legal or otherwise
yep
he would need to fly out of a airport, on a airline, over countries, and to a place that wouldn't send him tot he US
he was offered asylum in 4 South American countries
he should just be allowed to go there...but we also know the US doesn't have an amazing track record on following International Law either
Four countries offered Snowden permanent asylum: Ecuador, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Venezuela
Given Ecuador kicked Assange out, I have a feeling that would be rescinded
Bolivia would probably be his best shot
isn't ecuador a north american country?
oh wait I'm thinking of something else XD
well Nicaragua is north american
no planes fly from Russia to any of those countries
He'd have to go via Cuba
The US had kept up an illegal blockade of Cuba for 60years
I doubt they'd show Snowdens plane any more respect for the law
Nicaragua is in central america which is part of North America
even to this day the US Navy heavily blockades cuba
which pretty much everywhere the UN has had a vote comdeming it :/
almost all goods are restricted from entering and leaving
yup
even the nato and 5 eyes countries
condemn it
This is giving me deja vu 🤔
The most plausible motive so far for the sabotage, and it's almost certainly sabotage, on the Nord Stream pipelines is the Kremlin doubling down on putting as much energy price pressure on Europe as possible to destabilise the EU and reduce support for Ukraine; whilst also removing the arguments for doves in Putin's inner circle to push for de-escalation and returning Russia to an energy supplier of Europe.
Another potentially plausible theory is the sabotage of the pipeline is a way for Russian gas suppliers to bypass the cost of breaking contractual obligations due to unforeseeable circumstances.
I struggle to see any other nation or entity who would benefit or dare risk its reputation on getting caught using such underhanded tactics.
Given how no other nation would have any particular benifit, and given they already stopped pumping fuel to the EU, the Puntin doubling down against the pressure for war to end so they can start selling oil again seems to be one of the more likely theories
Yeah, the Swedish and Danish government are very sure that it‘s sabotage, and I agree with your thoughts on this, although contractual obligations are likely less important than the pressure created by this incident
That’s very realistic 😍
And in Zaporizhia, an additional 93.1% of people said the same
Idk about y'all. But something tells me these votes were rigged
really, what makes you think that?
Omg no way! Who could've thought
Russia being fascist??? Never
The results were very similar when the Soviet Union annexed the Baltic states, it‘s literally the same playbook lol
Yep
To anyone who read a single page in a history book about it, not surprising
Most people don’t know about it though
Even though it reads like a description of current events, I‘ve met very few people here who are aware of this
Nah, surely the people must REALLY want to join Russia. Why else would nearly 100% of the population not only participate in the election, but also vote for the people who attacked and destroyed their cities and homes? 😍😍😍
Russia has NEVER rigged their votes in one way to get the result they wanted. NEVER. EVER. They would NEVER do that, because that would be so mean.
of course not
Same energy as pulling a gun to a store clerk to make em democratically vote to give you all the money in the register
Didn't russians go into the war with the assumption that everyone from Ukraine were "weak farmers" or something like that? I feel like I heard some kind of propaganda about that.
they went there genuinely thinking that Ukraine sees Russia as a brother nation, and would not resist at all, literally laying down their weapons and turning on the government
Terrified
You’d always thinks “No chance they would use nuclear weapons, they wouldn’t” but then I said the same thing about invading Ukraine
Only time will tell our fate
Not this again, The Russian leadership is woefully incompetent but it's never going to use a tactical nuclear warhead of any kind without Russian soil being encroached upon first - and no the Ukrainians don't have plans to push onto Russian soil since it would undermine the legitimacy of their defensive war. Putin himself implied in his recent speech that nuclear weapons would only be used in reciprocate, amongst the baseless claims of Western nuclear blackmail and the "I'm not bluffin'". Note also the Russians won't follow through on their threat if the Ukrainians liberate the recently illegally annexed territory in Crimea or the Donbass either. No one respects claims fabricated from the sham referendums not even the Russians.
There are many reasons why this conflict is extremely unlikely to escalate in such a manner - and by all means look through the arguments put forth in this chat back in march. I'm too tired to list them exhaustively.
This nuclear annihilation rhetoric is being spouted by loud mouthed Russian pundits trying to be as outrageous and bravado as possible who don't hold any real power in Russia.
Seriously don't listen to them, unless you enjoy a good laugh.
IMO If any nation is potentially going to start a pointless nuclear conflict it would be Pakistan.
Please don't fan the fearmongering flames it just causes a lot of unnecessary anxiety for people, while forwarding Russia's power projection.
U.S. assessments show that the risk of nuclear weapons use is elevated but still not probable
Likely because the use of a nuke would mean an admission that the conventional war was lost or because of concerns that it might trigger Article 5 at a time when Russia is caught cold
Damn, finding any accurate sourced data is pretty hard
I mean artillery irl is very fucking destructive, depending on the kind ofcourse
but it's not really meant to get kills purely due to how inaccurate it tends to be
its real purposes destroying infrastructure and morale
The guided ones are pretty accurate actually
but here's the kicker, ever since the war started we've been flooded with videos of the ukrainians pinpointing certain chokepoints the Russians use
I just underestimated them
you still need to guide them with a laser but fair nuff
it's not like just choosing an area you can't see and blowing it up
Definitely an oversight on my end
yeah the Ukrainians have been doing these constant incredibly precise barrages alot
it's pretty much been redefining artillery
Yeah, but their accuracy with lazer designated targets will still make them dangerous
The mood of Russia's top propagandist, Vladimir Solovyov in this clip can be summed up as "Hello darkness, my old friend." He demands some victories and complains that people are running away from Russia. He also sighs. A lot.
HE shells are less effective and have been slowly phased out in the 70s with the development of composite armor which helps reduce shockwaves, reduce doesn’t mean eliminate however
Honestly, a realistic video game would include the tank sitting in a tree line concealed for hours till it gets an order to move, gets destroyed, or finds a target, at that point it shoots a single round and more than likely retreats, modern warfare is a mess of the second you are spotted, you can and will be hit
hm, won't actually be late I guess, the room is full of lawmakers and other important people
lol
oh hey, the tick tock man himself, Kadyrov, is there in Moscow and sitting next to it's mayor
Footage of HIMARS operation in Ukraine
It’s a perfect illustration of Putin’s Russia: the official annexation ceremony in the Kremlin, pathetic speeches on the imperialistic absorption “of what used to be Ukraine,” but meanwhile in the ground — thousands of Russian soldiers dying in a catastrophic pocket in Donbas.
Russian mobik attempts to explain what he's doing at the training grounds, and why. Guy's brain is a mess.
Thank you!!
he is 10 mins late
Uhuh
My mum's watching UK Column downstairs and they're talking about the referendums
I didn't stick around to hear what they were saying but considering everything I already know about them it's almost certainly pro-Russia
I think so
Is it history time again?
I looked up one of the hosts once and found out that he's a friend of Alex Jones
i am indeed falling asleep
oh thank god the woman is talking over him
THEY LITERALLY WERE ASKED TO TURN THEIR PHONES OFF
what an incompetent joke of a government
are you telling me the russian government is incompetent and a joke?
Interesting
Putin now acknowledges that the war started in 2014
Yet he urges Ukraine to give up and enter negotiations
He also vows to defend the "new citizens"
wait what happened to them?
Putin presents the "terrible 90s" as a contrast to the current age in which Russia is returning to greatness
just came back after I went to make lunch for dad, I see he's still talking about nothingness
Yep
Y U P
Now he‘s just ranting about how the US colonises and enslaves countries… the irony
All four are contested and full of partisan activity. Get ready to reap a whirlwind, khuilo.
Putin called on Ukraine to cease fire and sit down at the negotiating table 🤡
HIIII! "Thewe awe fouw new wegions of Wussia" - Pwesident Vwadimiw Putin speaks at Kwemwin cewemony to annex pawts of Ukwaine (●´ω`●)
https://t.co/yNysCUWuoR
In one of the craziest batshit speeches Putin has ever made, he now claims the "collective west is afraid of our philosophy and that's why they try to assassinate our philosophers".
@copper monolith what the hell is he talking about now, I zoned out for a sec
I'm struggling to pay attention
its honestly amazing
he's very talented at making a large speech completely full of bullshit
It really is
Big words with no meaning
Why are we talking about Hiroshima now??
Bro
all the things he's saying the West did, he's literally doing the same right now at this very moment in Ukraine
Yeah
And the Soviet Union pulled a lot of shit too
Like he mentions the bombing of Dresden, but not the Soviet bombing of Tallinn
"the listening of Putin's speech should've been done with a psychiatrist, not a political analysist" TRUE
Haha just heard that too
let's not forget about the complete annihilation of Berlin by Soviets too lol
and the mass raping of Berlin's women
Oh yeah, but tbf Berlin was actually heavily defended
Putin giving the same speech he's been giving since Munich 2007.
Putin has spent the last 15 minutes talking exclusively about European imperialism and America’s bloodthirsty aggressions of history.
what_is_a_siberian_front.jpg
"it feels like he's gonna announce a war with the US instead of the annexations"
he is literally schizo posting on Russian state tv
smh that's the job of ur propagandist
looking at the watch waiting for him to get to the fucking point already
fuuck I shouldn't listen to this schizo vent on 2 large cups of coffee
OH MY GOD
????????
😭
Now he‘s talking about gender
"Do we really want to have parent 1 and parent 2 instead of mum and dad?"
if I didn't care about my monitor I'd punch it so hard
satanism
satanism = west, russia = hesus
This is basically the first Information Age war
oh thank god he's ending it
Putin says southeastern Ukraine is actually part of Russia because the Russian state's predecessors ruled it, it was part of the Russian empire, and because the USSR fought to free it from the Nazis in World War II.
What's the point of just saying "I own this now" and signing random papers
I’m honestly just… the bullshit is fucking with me
oh believe me, millions in Russia believe everything said by Putin and his minions because they've fed bullshit for decades
It’s probably ceremonial honestly, or an excuse to use a higher amount of firepower because now theyre “defending core Russian territory”
the signing will just be more useful to attempt to make his people believe that their brothers and dads are dying for a "good cause"
Argh it's so dumb it hurts
hey, at least you get to just read short english summary of his sentences, I'm cursed with understanding every word he said
Just why did this whole war begin again?
Why is that even a bad thing?
Wasn't that a great denazification by any chance?
he was just saying how evil the west are because they levelled cities, as if the Soviets didn't do that at the exact same time, and Russia isn't doing it this entire year
Something about Ukraine destroying a radio tower I think, wait no, I’m confusing nazi Germany with modern day Russia again
Yeah I'm very happy to not understand Russian rn
It's just far enough from my language that I can't understand his bullshit
Yeah that's what I thought too. I thought fighting litteral nazis was like their main excuse but apparently it's bad now xD
Standing in the same room as Putin probably reduces your iq by 25% like it’s a fucking video game
I think you meant a totally not false flag operation in Danzig
It's just an accident that Polish soldiers spoke German
Imagine how Facebook is reporting the war
I don't want to imagina that
i didn't even notice how smol he is compared to the other 4 twats lol
It’s better to focus on his height then his bullshit
W8 I just realized Putin made this territory into an NFT
He has the paper that says he owns it but that's it
Uh what did I miss?
I read the text above quickly and seems like Putin had a very smooth brain talk
I thought he said he was invading Ukraine “because they were nazis”
It’s hypocrisy, and he keeps spewing it
@paper cedar
Thanks Val
I'm so drinking tonight to recover my head lmao
If you had “satanism,” “Goebbels,” “biological weapons,” “crude gender reassignment surgery quip,” and “nuke threats” on your Putin bingo card you may have just won.
#Ukraine: Ukraine received new rockets for HIMARS/M270- here we can see a pod of M30A1 guided rockets.
M30A1 differs from previously seen M31A1/A2 by an alternative warhead with 182000 preformed spheroid steel/tungsten fragments and is designed to be used against soft targets.
yeah unsure about that either
Gabon did become the president of UNSC today for the month, so maybe they didn't want to vote in case Russia would veto their presidency too?
Ukrainians using a BMP-1 at a ballistic trajectory (with correction coming from a drone and Kropiva (Nettle) targeting software). Not the first time the Ukrainians have fired weapons guided by UAV, surprisingly effective.
