Well.. when people make their first character, they typically don't understand how the game works. They somehow get to the endgame, but then begin getting one-shotted by things. I thought I had it figured out with my mine, then several levels into maps, there was no way to continue but to re-examine the character and make changes. If you're struggling now, it won't get any easier and you can't rely on others to carry you further. I'd ask people in the build-fixing room on the left for advice.

@karmic moon not really. I usually follow the tree and base my gear similarly. Only thing would be gameplay style; these authors of builds are wicked good & make it easier to play than it is. Otherwise, I think you'll be fine

So I've played PoE for ~5 years on PC and recently switched to console. I really didn't like my experience and was wondering what build I can do that doesn't involve too many flasks (cause flasks on console is fucking dumb) and kinda SSF cause trade on console is pretty bad

It's how I play and I do all content at high lvl like that and it's really fine "for me" to play like that

Made it to act 3 yesterday, I had to play every Ritual so this forced a complete act clearing for the most part. Best loot was a couple chaos orbs and a fair weapon, but pretty fun. Zero crashes also, unusual lol

@arctic nexus Armor and weapon drops from Ritual seem plentiful. Hopefully the Harvest Craft too will act to keep economy sane in PS4 at least for the less exotic items

Hey @ionic sparrow I believe the biggest adjustment is flasks via d pad. I've been ps4 from the beginning but this is the main complaint I see. Hitting the d pad every few secs takes some getting used to when things get hectic. That said, console play using a controller is very natural and feels good in general with just about all build types. My ps4 is pretty stable but does do blue screen and occasional Rubber band effect (especially in Delve). Ps5 should only be better in theory lol!

Flask management I use right and left bumper for mana and main life flask, center d pad up for main flask effect and the other two left right for less critical flasks. Its muscle memory really although you can kind of hit top up dpad at same time as right or left with your thumb in between if you follow. The Playstation economy is more expensive generally than PC I think but its not out of reach for most things.

There is a smart flask option in the options menu which auto switches if your selected flask is uncharged, very helpful when dpad mashing

@novel pelican Golem builds are strong, even if a bit nerfed. The primordial gems are a necessity and they can be expensive but once you get them, you are set for most game content. Level should be pretty easy even pre primord jewels. I have the meta carrion build in standard, its good Map clear and boss

@chrome kiln I am still confused about that build. 😅 I saw a guide which explains two different versions low life ES build and a life build. What’s the difference?

Energy shield as main defense allows more all around protection with things like no chaos damage, But I think its tricky to implement properly and usually requires very expensive high end gearing. I guess if you follow the guide to the letter with passives and focused gear it works well. I prefer life builds myself, because I rarely end up with same gear as per build guides due to expense or adapting something different anyway

My carrion build is 5.2k life with acouple hundred ES. I dont die often, one shots still happen, but I also have corrupted blood protection, immortal call on hit, and level 94. Maybe 4k armor? I don't facetank anything, stay moving around bosses and mobs and use Convocation all the time to position my minions.

Clears all map bosses easy even, the shaper and elder protectors. A8 awakeners are not too difficult but A8 Sirius is still a bastard lol cant beat

@tranquil inlet Yes but I don't have details off the top of my head. You can use Wildcards in the trade keywords to find most any item parameter. You should be able to find info with a search.

Lets say you want Tabula Rasa. You go into the trade , hit square on controller, select body armorurs, all (or simple robe if you know), and hit L3 left dpad as indicated in Filter Window. It brings up a soft keyboard window. Type in Tabula and select done. It will Highlight tabulas as you scroll through all armours.

Before the last league, crashes were happening (on ps4) about every 3 or 4 hours at least for me. It was so bad I used to log out of the game after a few maps or changing to delve as it seemed help. Current stability is........heavenly lol!

Ha ha @arctic nexus I find most drops by Awakeners is so so, although once in a while an Awakened gem drops, thats guaranteed several Exalts or a big boost in your build if usable

@merry quest welcome on console, people don't know the price and everything is fuck top. A good tips for you, learn to craft your stuff.

My observation on PoE guilds: They don't work like Neverwinter or similar, mainly serving as common bank and loose social groupings. Path of Exile can be played in groups but the vast majority of players (in both PC and console) choose to go solo for the most part, which limits the Guilds socially.

@merry quest Its still early in console league so the good stuff is priced high, those that know what's what anyway. As Shik mentioned crafting a lesser version is a good way to go assuming you know what aspects you are looking for. Crafting can cost more than an exalt in some cases but with harvest and cheaper techniques (alt spam for one; look online) you can progressively improve items. One mistake I think people make is trying to get a tier 1 weapon or item too soon before they have currency or supporting build. The grind is to progress in steps, if you find the T1 drop or buy cheap good for you, but expect to step up and replace several lesser items first on the journey to end game domination.

At least on console, Blight maps are almost unplayable especially with Minion or super splashy graphics for this reason. It seems the graphic memory gets overwhelmed/memory leak misallocation, or something.

Yes but only the main stash page. If you bought extra stash tabs, like the currency one (which I highly recommend), you need to transfer currency to the main stash tab via the usual stash chest access and then transfer to the "sent offers" tab on the trade window. I just drag and drop usually. You "offer" on the item first, then transfer in your currency offer. You can only offer currency by the way; would be nice to consider for example: 6 link trades for other 6 links on this tool, but its pretty basic, works well though as its almost scam proof, just check your item carefully that it's legit (fully linked for example; sometimes a casual look misses a link due to graphics) before locking in trade.

@tranquil inlet If I understand you correctly, you can hold an item you want from the trade board, then leave and get your currency, and come back to the item to make your bid.

Lets say you are looking at Tabla Rasas on the ps4 trade board. You find one for the price you like (or want to offer on an unpriced one). Click X on it and its held in your sent offers trade tab. You can hold several items at once this way. Once in your sent offers tab you can leave the trade market tool and get you currency from your stash. Return and bid per the instructions, then wait for response accept or reject. You can bid on several items at once this way.

When you hit X your not really submitting, just placeholding it. You need to do a more complex dpad plus L3 to actually submit, instructions are on the sent offers tab

There's a bunch of stash squares next to the selected item, just drop your bid currency in one of them and do the dpad submit. The person with the item is notified of your bid.

It may take them a while to respond as they need to be in their hideout or not in map or delve to respond.

Also some folks are afk and never respond. I only bid on items under "online" usually unless its a high end many exalt item I gotta have lol

You can, its held there. If someone else makes an offer and its accepted is the only way it goes away, even then it there but when you do submit it gives some sort of error or no longer viable message.

You need to use dpad down i think to cancel out of a hold, or it never goes away

Just in general for new ps4 players wanting to use the trade system, its got some annoyances; but overall its pretty much scam proof and anonymous as compared to direct meet and trade. Its a good (if slow) way to price check. Look up items, see what others charge especially mid league on as things stabilize. Also you can only trade your items on this market by buying the trade activated stash tabs from GGG, like $5 or $10 I think on sale. Be aware though most stuff just does not sell, needs to be Meta or high end items mostly.

I feel like the lone ranger poster on this channel. 😏 @ionic sparrow As a nearly addicted player who reaches level 90 plus on 2 or more characters almost every league, my opinion on whether POE is a great game is obvious. That said, this game is not for everyone and I totally agree you need to get the comfortable feels before investing sizeable funds into MTX and even the very useful org. tabs. I would recommend you experience the post-acts, endgame which is where the vast majority of content is to really decide if POE is longterm for you. You may not get there with your first or even 2nd character. As you might be discovering, POE is not a single minded journey to find the pieces of an overpowered armour set like Diablo 3 but more like chess wrt strategy/planning ahead. You have (hundreds; thousands even) of strategic choices in items and abilities to make your char strong enough to challenge all content, sometimes succeed, sometimes fail, no league the same. Not even talking about Delve or other play like Hardcore. Good luck on your journey of POE discovery!

I would say PS5 no problem. I have PS4 and only a few things cause issues, those being Minion builds with lots of Minions like skeles in a few situations like multi delerium maps, occurances of lots of splashy effects, late simulacrum waves, and blight maps are just hard to play. Most everything else is fine, guessing PS5 is only going to be better. There is occasional "rubber band" effects where your FPS seems to slow and jump to normal making your char pause then do rapid slide, causing death at times, this is rare.

Hey @willow lynx Welcome to the dark side where we toil in the shadows of a PC centric game. Console has its advantages main to me is not using a mouse lol. Lets see: Console community has a few idiots here and there but most folks are friendly and helpful. I find console trade to be just fine; I buy and sell quite a bit, it takes a lot of criticism but I can usually find what I'm looking for and pay within reason for it. Yes, some things are insanely priced but supply and demand. Fewer console players, fewer items = generally higher prices. Also price fixing of currency is rampant but its not too much of a strain. Group is not my thing so I don't have ant thoughts on that.

How to Find Fractured Walls in the Azurite Mines

Fractured walls are found in side passages in the azurite mines. They have a specific appearance (https://i.imgur.com/wu4Ul18.jpg), and a minimap icon that appears once you get close to them (https://i.imgur.com/uoZJQ6C.png). There are two types of fractured wall.

The first type spawns in side passages along an existing path. To find these, you can divide the mines map into a grid like so: https://i.imgur.com/kctPRk6.png. All squares within this grid that contain a path but no encounter will have a fractured wall somewhere along the path. In the example above these squares are marked with red dots. Once in that square, you just have to check every side passage for a wall. Side passages that have walls are always straight, always on the outside of the main path if it's curved, usually on corners, usually short, and never connect to other passages.

The second type of fractured wall opens up new paths to otherwise inaccessible encounters. If you ever see an encounter on the map with no visible way to reach it, there will be a wall nearby that you can break to open the path. putting stone in atles raises tiers of maps in the region

you map in corner regions until you can fight and kill conquerors, then you socket the watchstones they drop into your atlas and maps in that region will drop at higher levels. rinse and repeat
