thats what i was thinking too, I know that windows and linux handles text rendering differently, but the textures should be rendered by the game engine moreso than anything OS native afaik
I love playing it on linux due to the way it looks, but the POE overlay tool as compared to Exiled Exchange is so much more convenient, but it requires use of Windows only API's
i also couldnt find anything trying to browse the web so I just wanted to see if anyone here had any information as to why this is, none of my other games seem to have differences like this
You've got slightly different resolutions in those images too. You can use F8 to take a screenshot using PoE itself btw.
ohhhh, yeah, well linux seems to recognize my desktop as being a different resolution altogether, which seems is normal

That's interesting. From the looks of it, you're essentially playing in 4K on Linux, downscaled to fit your small display.
The DPI scaling of your 4K screen may play into it as well.
that may be true, im just trying to figure out why its doing that, from what ive read, could be wrong, linux sees extended displays as just 1 resolution and uses a processing layer to split them, so it may just be taking the highest res and scaling down
(well, 80% of 4k on each axis, but still a higher resolution)
Yeah, I'm thinking I need to disconnect my 2nd monitor and retest, so I will do that here in a min, just to compare resolutions, but ik that 4k and 1080p have perfect downscaling ratios with each other, so wouldn't it make sense for them to be the same if it's just downscaling
There's this Window Resolution that's 80% too, not sure if that's something you've altered or a default.
If you're talking in-game that's a set thing, it's greyed out, I'm running windowed Fullscreen on both so it just takes whatever the OS thinks is the monitor res.

It's all good, I mean this is such a minor thing in the long run, but I was just trying to figure out what was going on. I think it's a mix of a bunch of things, my other games on Linux have the same res of 3072x1728, but their scaling makes no difference, whereas poe2 changes the scaling for whatever reason
I reckon that the biggest concern would be if you're having insufficient performance as rendering at a larger resolution has some cost, especially if it's just gonna downscale it to your output.
3072x1728 is 160% of 1920x1080 by the way, which is suspiciously the same as the DPI scaling of your second monitor.
thats so odd, but actually my Linux has like 20% or so more performance compared to windows, my guess is just due to available cpu resources

Yeah, but why do certain parts of the UI change, like the rings for the runes, in 1080 it's solid, but in the scaled 4k, it has notches
Some 2D art has "4k" folders in the game assets. It's possible that there might be some cutoff where it picks another file completely, or it might be sampling or interpolating between different mip levels of the same art.
Not really familiar with how the UI is built.
The lower res sockets have some signs of the notches in somewhat different positions but not as pronounced.
Odd, but understandable, game drops 15 fps with my build either way so it doesn't really matter that much. Thank you for the help. Im glad they have full Linux support, it's awesome, just hoping we get hot swap kbm and controller next

if you're using the wayland backend for wine/proton (e.g., PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 on proton-ge) then I think that you need dx. I spent longer than I'd like to admit debugging that on PoE1.

im using steam poe and have proton enabled and iv tried all the version from experimental to 5. it just says loading then the play button turns green again. no screen or anything, iv reinstalled, verified integrity and even coppied the config i had on my previous install and changed the dx12 to vulcan. nothing is working
it does also seem to be other games but not all having the same problem

I got a good GPU and CPU but for some reason I still have issues with mobs and I changed my settings to low for the graphics.

Try toggling between DX12 and Vulkan for the game's renderer. Also check the pinned message
their taskbar goes crazy from apoet reopening its own window whenever a program with "path of exile" in the name is focused

hi guys i have quick question, anyone have had an issue or an idea how to solve an issue where game has far higher cpu latency than gpu and uses like 25% of cpu resources?
I am working on a Path of Exile archipelago randomizer. I am looking for people to test it out. There are problems with linux compatibility (because of python libraries that I am using). I want to support linux, but don't have a linux install (other than steamdeck ha ha)

so what exactly gets randomized in archipelego? since everything is serverside, it can basically only provide checks to other games, no?
We are limited in Path of Exile to be a read only implementation, we can't modify anything in the game directly. We can however read character data (from an API), read the client logs, write to an item filter (and audio files for when things drop).
With Archipelago (AP), the items you get in poe will send checks. Each time you enter a new zone: it will see if you character is using appropriate gear, if not it will change the item filter and let you know how you are breaking the rules. Otherwise it will search for new items that your character is holding and send those "checks".
Locations are:
Finding certain base item types that drop from monsters (e.g., a specific sword base)
Leveling up
Items (unlocks) are:
Available Characters
Ascendancies
Passive skill points
Ability to equip certain rarities of gear
Ability to equip flasks
Maximum allowed number of linked sockets
Utility gems (auras, movement skills, curses, etc.)
Skill gems (active attack/spell abilities)
Support gems (gems that make skill gems more powerful)
Configurable goals are:
Finish acts / Complete the campaign
Kill endgame bosses
Using the API we can check that your character is using the right gear, and only progress if you are doing so.

this could still mean that your CPU simply is the bottleneck. for CPUs its not as simple as checking if its running at 100%.
CPUs have multiple cores running in parallel. software runs only on a single core by default. developers can use multiple threads to utilize multiple cores. a single thread can not run on multiple CPU cores at the same time. but some specific tasks are very hard to or cannot be split between multiple threads. this means if one important thread uses 100% of a core and other threads depend on its data, then other threads have to wait.
i highly doubt this is the case, i mean sure maybe poe2 is not utilizing all my cpu cores but sitting on so low usage is kind suspicious. it's not a game from 2010 that simply dose not use multi threading like shogun 2 tw
and i dont have a single overutlized core when playing poe2
PoE has a bunch of thread pools for jobs. I forget if the client log mentions how many of each priority.

i agree that 25% usage sounds weird. what cpu do you have?
regarding checking for overutilized cores: CPUs can move threads between cores for heat management. if the update speed of the utilization info is too slow it might never show 100% for a single core and instead it shows being split among multiple cores.

im observing similar behaviour in poe2 with a 9800x3d, utilisation appears to have very little correlation with cpu latency so it could be a RAM or deadlock issue
If you want to look at utilisation, a system-wide sampling profiler that can actually show when threads are scheduled might tell some of the story. Not sure if Linux has any accessible ones past perf.
In programs that do memory mapped I/O, a lot of what looks like CPU load at the surface level could also actually be disk or memory system contention.
actually seeing memory usage with the ingame profiler may be tough
since proton will basically always report ~5gb DRAM usage
perf/system monitor for me is kinda just showing whats expected, with 2-3 cores hovering around 25-50%
but still basically no correlation with frametime spikes, only average, which was sitting between 7ms and 11ms for me, spiking up to 22ms intermittently with gpu at 13-17ms
Nope, we don't run into rate limits, I query the API each zone load, and we use local item filters that are built on the fly. I send "/itemfilter" commands to reload the filter in the client
By default, people are notified for both PoE 1 and PoE 2.
To customize your pings and channels, either:

Either of these will remove the (formerly) default role and instead you can select either the
Path of Exile 1 or
Path of Exile 2 roles you want. If you want neither, go to the #rules-and-info channel instead of onboarding and you can remove both as well. This may cause some channels to disappear, you can re-add them in id:customize and use 'Show all channels'

I thought Wayland uses libinput to handle all user inputs: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Libinput and you should be able to monkey around with that to customize your inputs.
My distro (PopOS) is still on Xorg, so I just used xinput to remap what was scroll up/down to left mouse click. Here's my shitty script that I can toggle on and off:
4 / 5 == scroll up/down; 1 == Left mouse click
I think I had to look that up in the man page or just listing out the xinput for button maps for my mouse. Which I think is that starting '9' on my system, could be different on yours. It's been a hot minute since I've had to touch this.

I used to play with my xbox controller all the time. Haven't played with it in a long time but restarted with playing 0.3... now everytime I turn it on the bluetooth won't connect to it unless I uninstall/reinstall all the bluetooth apps, everytime I turn the controller off and back on. What could've happened? It's really annoying. Linux mint, 5600x,rx6600. No dual boot.
these crashes affect windows too on a wide spectrum of hardware, noone seems to be getting usable error logs from it

@remote haven That's kinda been my experience in general. Fri-Sun I've had zero crashes and I put in a unhealthy amount of time in, then starting Monday I had the occasional crash, which yesterday hit a peak where I crashed about 20 times during Sekhema trial.

proton runs d3d12 through vkd3d, which is a translation layer from d3d12 to vulkan, so it's vulkan anyways. basically you're just paying the small overhead that vkd3d adds (in most cases)
so there's no difference, it's vulkan whichever you choose
There can still be relevant differences in how the game drives D3D12 and how that translates to Vulkan, vs. how the game directly drives Vulkan.
Last I tested, d12 (d3d12) had better performance on my system (RX 7700S) than native vk

seems like i misremembered something and confused it with something else. yea steam is compiling shaders here. disabling it means that those shaders are compiled during game run time instead. how big the impact really is depends on your CPU. might cause some stutters when new shaders need to be compiled. disabling it barely made a difference for me.

I am encountering some insane freezes in certain zones, namely "Heart of the Tribe" near the entrance and "Kingsmarch" on the way to the ship (but not always) and I assume it's due to shader compilation because what else would it be... CPU ms goes way up and shader bar goes to full. Is there a way to turn off async shader compilation?
This also happens sometimes with abyss stuff but not too often

i think i actually went into some configs to increase the amount of threads it used to process shaders.
it made it faster, but also taking up a lot more cpu
honestly I recommend just disabling shader precaching. I've had this issue on multiple games and multiple machines, and disabling it made no significant negative impact.
I guess coincidentally all my machines have been full team red, so that does create a bias in my sampling
how could it possibly be dangerous to not load some libraries. it might break some things (notably, the steam overlay), but I'd hardly call it dangerous
to the point that the system will automatically clear LD_PRELOAD for some operations in the name of safety (suid binaries come to mind)
no, LD_PRELOAD tells the system which libraries to link before doing anything else.
look you're technically right in that if you make a pathological system then clearing the LD_PRELOAD can be an actual problem, but I have yet to see a single system where that is the case but the user is not well aware of what LD_PRELOAD does. in practice, all this will do is remove the steam overlay (which is the goal, since that is broken) and maybe a few other things like mangohud if the user does it wrong, but it won't break their system

Before 0.3.0c I was quite happy with poe2 under Linux (mint).

GPU memory leakage probably there. I had a website open that would slow down my poe2. Took me ages to figure out that one page was leaking GPU memory.
Maybe someone can figure out if you can get it to work if you set up the right window rules, but i cant so i just run it in browser

i'm pretty sure EE2 doesn't work with wayland? running it on cachyos/kde adding launch option PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 breaks it
EE2 has native linux support. you don't need to run it through proton.
and the native support does (kinda) work on wayland

for general performance/avoiding stutters and crashes (on linux desktop fwiw) i've had good luck with turning off dynamic resolution, upscale mode either fsr or xess, and image quality ultra performance
MESa have benn modified, i lost FPS during a week, now it seems better
either follow one on the website, use filterblade (sync to account) or navigate to ~/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/compatdata/2694490/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Path of Exile 2

Is there a way to disable the GGG logo vid on startup? My game locks up trying to play it on vulkan, but directx12 casues textures to not load, half the town looks gross. My current solution is to edit the config to directx12 before launching, once in game, i swap back to vulkan. I have to do this every time to start the game. This seems to be a new issue since .3 started, or at least It wasn't a problem every time i started the game.

Hey thank you for answering! I got cachyOS up and running, PoE I + II and the correpsponding Price Checker aswell. Downloaded them from github and load them through console. The Game itself runs 20% to 25% better compared (especially the 1% lows are so much better) to W11 (I am rocking all AMD). The price checker are really snappy aswell, I love it! There were some problems along the way, because I lack some basic linux knowledge, but it was a very rewarding experience now that everything runs so well ๐
All I am missing atm is a good Fan Control Software somehow CoolerControll does not recognizes my Fan Sensors (lm_sensors aswell) but Fan Control on W11 works on all of them.

There's no Linux client, it has to be via a Wine-like in some way.
I use proton 9.0-4 on steam, it works best for me
if you select it in compatibility, it just means that it will use the specific proton version you specify, rather than the one steam wants to (which iirc is proton hotfix)

proton is a way more viable option than expecting developers to maintain 2 versions, with valve's work on the translation layer there is only a 5% to 10% performance decrease for most games.
if you're experiencing low performance its cause the game is currently very badly optimised

by default nvidia drivers only cache 1GB, it ignores whatever the steam settings are unless you add a commandline option

Because as I explained, the shaders cache with nvidia drivers on linux is capped at 1GB by default, so it has to rebuild the shaders every time I load the game, and on every new map. With 100GB of shaders cache, they're always instant. Press F1 and look at the shaders bar. If it's big it means it's building a new set of shaders; when version 0.3 came out it took 1 minute to load the game up, and was always slow to start and laggy on new maps but now takes 5 seeconds to start the game and is instant on new maps with no lag.

i've found the auto-hide mode to be buggy too. So i've started to not use it and use the "Open without auto-hide" and have less issues. I think its just a Wayland thing though not completely sure

Proton/Wine work pretty well, if you are using Steam, it will install proton for you. I've been using Steam/Proton for quite a while now with no issues.

If you're using kde plasma it's a bug in the new version. Been reported and fixed just waiting for 6.5.2 or for your distro to backport the fix
Sometimes copy paste works, sometimes it doesn't which is infuriating. What I found works is copy, then if doesn't paste select the text you've copied in the clipboard again from the systray icon, and then paste.

I finally did, I was missing what I understand to be a program (FUSE2) to allow it to run, probably something to do with making it an executable

I noticed that in Tibia also. If I have spells shortcuts to Alt+Something it also triggers the bell, but unlike PoE the game doesn't "stop" listening the mouse events

If you are using KDE and opening it via the Menu context, not the Desktop icon, you can the ozone parameter using the Menu Editor.

0.3 poe2 literally went from 5s startup to 1minute for the game itself and every map , added shaders cache just fixed it

By the description I think I know what you mean. Whenever I Ctrl+D or Ctrl+Alt+D and item, I have to refocus the PoE window. I can't "chain" the shortcut like Ctrl+D Item > Esc > Ctrl+D.
I need to do Ctrl+D > Esc > Click PoE > Ctrl+D
I'm playing window mode, not fullscreen borderless. Maybe it is worse when borderless

I use the cli tool zap to "install" AppImages. it just does some linking and creates a desktop file for me. but I realize... the desktop file points to a shortcut of the AppImage, and not the AppImage itself. could this cause the --ozone-platform=x11 to not get forwarded or something?

yep it renders the shaders, caches them to disk, so next time it just loads them rather than renders them

you'll know for sure it's working if next time you enter a zone you've been in, the shaders bar just blips briefly and drops to zero

question: shaders for steam games are stored in ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/shadercache/<app-id> right? so if i remove the <app-id> folder to clear the shader cache it should recreate it, but in my case it doesn't, so i don't think as of rn my poe is storing any shaders, any ideas
does anyone else have these freezes where all the animation in the world is suddenly stuck/frozen for a few seconds and then play back all at once? While freezing I can still use all the menus, only the 'world' is frozen but it also freezes any movement input which has lead to some frustrating deaths. I'm very new to the game and maybe there is an obvious fix I missed.
I do get occasional lagspikes. If you press F1 in the game it should show a performance chart in the top right corner, so you can look at that to see what's the cause (for me it's always network). I recommend immediately pausing when there's a lagspike like that.

yeah. I just pause the game. that usually prevents anything from happening and gives you unlimited time to react when the game comes back

Anyone else having massive CPU Latency spikes this league? All of a sudden it will shoot up over 1kMS and the only way to fix it is to change zones, or logout and back in. Has been happeing on whatever version of Proton Steam decided on and GE9.27, same exact behavior. Actual CPU load is not anywhere near maxed.
edit: Deleted shader cache, going to run a few more maps and see if that helped Deleting ShaderCache did not fix the issue.

Doesn't seem to be a server latency issue, seems to be CPULatency according to the performance graphs. Whole thing is super frustrating, starting to think it's my build (Ranged Animate Weapon) since it seemingly happens in high demand areas, first noticed it consistently in Ritual so small area, but-tonne of minions which include 17 AWd firing off arrows like OG TornadoShot
is your drive bar also showing crazy numbers and shader bar filled?
Its fluctuating constantly, but when this issue happens looks like it flat lines
in poe2 some towns would have more gfx loaded than the cache supported and i'd have 500ms frametimes on my 9800x3d and drive bar would be in the high hundreds
had similar issue this league w/ poe1 but not anywhere near as excessive
Yea this started in Ritual and has escalated to pretty much any hairy encounter, and I think it's pretty telling even when I can get the game to pause the UI is still unresponsive
have you tried adding this to launch params? to see if it works
this also alleviated the issue for some of my friends on windows and for me on amd

Path of building can either be run through wine, or with one of the frontends with Linux
Loot filters are normally installed through your account, no filesystem access required
although you can do it the old file way if you really want

If you want super basic, just pick Neversink Semi-strict. Actually, there's a super easy way to do that

Hey folks, I'm consistently crashing in PoE 1 on the loading screen. I've tried various fixes I found here/online but nothing has helped and I've ran out of ideas. Wondering if anyone had any that could help me troubleshoot further.

ooo, didnt know about this! I think the flatpak is just this wrapped up (noticed the in btop, didnt know what rusty-* was lol). AUR is a version ahead (SHOCKED SHOCKED....not that shocked......)
That said if your new to Linux would maybe still rec the Flatpak if it is indeed the same thing just packed up nicenice

It gives a dialog saying "Failed to create WIC factory" followed by a bunch of reference count errors. The behaviour matches this bug in the Wine bug tracker.

Had this problem and it was a driver issue, I had just changed gpu and had to install open drivers
Things took a while and some reboots/updates to download all dependencies too
But after like one day of tweaking with the help of an ai, it was running well

Try running vulkaninfo | grep "GPU id"
see if it shows your gpu
you might need to update wine too
But usually this is included in proton ge :/
Also try sudo dmesg | grep -i nvidia if you've got an nvidia and check if it shows any weird log
(replace nvidia by amd if you don't have an nvidia)
vulkaninfo shows my gpu, but also two other things (one i think is integrated graphics on cpu, the other idk)

If some is having issues with shaders and cpu load, ive switched from vulkan to dx12 and its fixed. Ggg fucked up the vulkan build this patch.
I've been experiencing hard crashes in Poe1 with DirectX12 for the last 3 leagues in which I most of the time just have to reboot. Vulkan doesn't hard crash but the game tends to become unresponsive/very stuttery (2fps mostly) when there's a lot going on. 5800X3D/5700XT/32GB RAM/CachyOS with KDE Plasma/latest GE-Proton. I have tried using both X11 and Wayland.
Have to add that after the crash happens the driver tries to restart but eventually the continuous attempts just fill my screen with artifacts.
funn enough, but changing to directx12 helped a lot with less crashes and less load o nthe system

I have the same problems. DX12 hard crashed my PC and Vulkan drops me to 1FPS in most endgame scenarios. Previous league was running flawlessly (except for heavy juiced endgame maps). Must be some issue related to the 3.27 patch.

How are u guyz dealing with this issue of steam not responding if u open browser and do something like trade site, or accessing any other tab and when return to poe the games gets not responding( i think its due to wayland or something?

I play on Wayland, KDE buy I don't have an issue like this one. I'm on CachyOs, using flatpak Zen browser. Playing on window mode though.
My only real issue is the stuttering on blight ravaged, but well... Those are not known to be lag free anyway

I don't seem to be having shade issues anymore after swapping to DX12, but I'm still dropping to ~2FPS in breach content, with both cpu and gpu usually at the exact same value, 500+ms. It's at the point I have to exit to character select after alith destroys the hive.

Vulkan works now okayish for me, still drops FPS significantly when a lot is going on but doesn't go unresponsive. Updated to Beta BIOS, set AMD P-State EPP to performance (fairly sure it already was though), RCU Lazy off and reduced my GPU powerlimit a little. @cursive pike if you want to give these a try.
i set left click to the windows key also, feels more comfortable. i tried space but then ofc my spacebar didnt work anywhere else

Yeah, one of the latest updates changed the version of one of the dependencies and it broke. I just installed it from AUR and then added "XDG_SESSION_TYPE=x11" in the kde menu editor and it has been working fine ever since

If you've launched it once, it should stick around in the background, regardless if PoE is running or not

Hey, I cannot get PoE1 to load into any zone, start and character selection works, no matter if going to town or fresh new character, during loading screen I crash back to desktop
I installed PoE2 earlier and it works completely fine in Vulkan with full default settings
In Proton log I get this error err:font:alloc_font_handle out of realized font handles but even installing the Fonts via protontricks does nothing
(Full AMD System, tried also DOOM 2016 that works without issues) I also tried different Proton Versions and als Proton Ge 10-25

i have no error, check lib2 multilible, and steam. refer to forum associated to your linux version ( manajaro, cashyos, etc...). whit is your video card ? By the way, there re a bug acutally in POE2 at start , refer to bug section

For upscaling or dynamic resolution I would highly recommend anything other than bilinear/NIS, they are ๐ฉ.
I've been using XeSS -> Optiscaler FSR 3.1.5 + OptiFG -> FSRFG.
Goverlay probably downloads older Optiscaler, so I don't know about FG there, but don't let it overwrite game files or spoof DLSS.

Thanks, so i try it with poe1. Setup with DLSS -> FSR 3.1.5/4.0.2 + FSRFG, and XeSS -> FSR 3.1.5 + FSRFG. With my eyes, I've seen no much changes, except the frame gen function. Normally with my 2k monitor 144. It would drop from 144 to 40-70fps under stress (deli, influences), now framegen keep it more stable; so this is a win (on paper). I dont use scaling because I dont see 1k -> 2k diff much. My card is 9070xt fyi. I see you highlight "don't let it overwrite game files or spoof DLSS" . I disabled it in govelay. But in optiscaler overlay, it still show "spoof DLSS", so I dont know, can you share more about it?
I've been having really bad crashes whenever i hit a bigger harbinger pack, and i'm unsure if its a linux, or PoE engine problem.
I have a ryzen 9 5950x, and a 9070xt, so i feel like my setup should be able to handle these things, but if i shield charge to the middle of two harbinger packs, and start casting FRoSS, my CPU latency will start rising, to ~1000ms, before the game just dies. I dont even see the cpu usage in htop, which makes me suspect engine issues.
Tried proton 9, 10-ge, etc. Turned off music in the config, vulkan and dx11, changing cpu scheduler, setting performance mode with cpupower, nothing has fixed it.
I don't know where gOverlay writes to, but generally everything should be in the game folder (where the game .exe is).
Configuration file is OptiScaler.ini, under [Spoofing] StreamlineSpoofing & Dxgi should be set to false.
If you're using DLSS inputs, then leave these enabled, but I recommend XeSS inputs and no spoofing.
Just in case, to not trigger anti-cheat or something by accident.

The only other thing worth mentioning is adjusting Mipmap bias will help a lot with temporal instability (shimmering, flickering,..).
I've been using these values, image will be a touch softer, but much more stable.
I keep having crashes related to encoding/fonts not sure. Basically certain accented characters cause the game to crash.
turning on /dnd for example fixes everything.

I am looking for information regarding a small issue I have with screenshots in poe1.
I am on mint (22.1) using GE-proton10-23.
When I hover an item and take a cropped screenshot the resulting screenshot doesn't capture the item tooltip unless I the ending position of my cursor is on top of the item.
I am usuing the default screenshot tool on cinnamon
For many tooltips, you can pin them using the icon in the corner so they stay when you mouse off them.
(no idea about the cropping situation, sounds like the game might get the opportunity to process your input and dismiss the item popup before the screenshot is actually taken)
This was my thinking, somehow proton gets priority over the screenshot happens. Which is weird
this is a workaround I didn't consider, thanks ๐

Ah, no. PoE1 doesn't have those.
Might be something particular to your screenshotting tool, which I presume is GNOME's in Mint/Cinnamon. There might be an alternate one that behaves differently?
Or you could do it the cumbersome way of taking full screen/window shots and cropping them after the fact ^_^
I've got the opposite problem on Windows when taking shots - I need the delay before the snipping tool engages to hit the correct hotkey to highlight or not highlight things ๐

unluigi ig, in 10~ years or so of using arch, only thing I've had break/act up after an update is python
altho for the server its kinda hard to break anything relevant anyway i guess since it's just a minimal headless install, Linux on desktop pc is something i gave up long ago ๐ซก
Look away for five minutes and they break ZFS and brick your postgres ๐
Bonus points for keyring deadlocks when you don't keep up with whatever rotations upstream does, as key sets don't necessarily install first.
But yeah, servers are easier in that they've got less of a surface, but you also tend to set them up and fully forget about them.

If I have to use a pre-ZFS filesystem, I'm partial to XFS.
No real reason not to default to ZFS these days tho, unless the distro makes it harder than it should to use it.

Quite recently I installed linux (Bazzite) on my pc's second ssd to dual boot it alongside with windows 11. The idea is to eventually completely move over to Bazzite and get rid of windows all together.
The only thing that really keeps me from fully using Bazzite yet is the fact that I can't seem to get a path of exile price checker(overlay) application running on it.
The closest I got was Exile Exchange 2 running, on the background but the hotkeys are not doing anything.
Does anyone have any experience with using any price checker for Path of Exile 1 & 2 on Bazzite that is willing to give me some help?

So does Exile Exchange, but I cant seem to get it to work. I might try out sidekick instead, see if that works.
it installs, it runs. it shows in my taskbar. It just doesnt respond at all to my hotkeys
global hotkeys won't work well on modern linux environments due to how wayland works. there are protocols for it, but i don't know of any price checkers that have implemented them. there are ways to get it working with some tinkering, varying per environment.
you can try forcing it to use the xwayland backend rather than native wayland. then, if you're focused on another xwayland window (like poe, by default), then global shortcuts should work

I tried downloading the appimage of sidekick and it wont do much.
I think it works if you remove the WAYLAND_DISPLAY envvar, but I think there's also some ozone platform cli flag you can use or something like that. Try looking through the issues on the github repo for EE2/APT.
I think ive managed to fix it but I am not fully sure what I did differently this time. However I can only use ctrl + alt + e, just alt + e wont work.
