I wonder if my thoughts are consistent with what others find?

If I run the affliction mechanic at the beginning of a map, the highest tier map I can run and live diminished about 4 levels. However, the loot I'd get from a map 4 levels higher is substantially better than what the boost from the affliction mechanic would give me. Therefore, I ask myself, "wtf am I running the affliction mechanic?"

Perhaps, it is best left until I am already able to live in t16 maps? alternatively, maybe I should just spam run a bunch of t1 maps to get any pts I can, every once in a while.

Another thing I was thinking, is to clear my map just leaving the boss, and then do the affliction mechanic, finally killing the boss, to avoid the whole map being hard.

You unlock each ascendancy when you find the NPC in the woods that matches it, so definitely go in the Wildwoods, it can take a bit to find the one you want, and then they have quests after to get more passive points

There's a point with guardian SRS in mapping when you're just following a build blindly, you'll realize you're not facerolling everything anymore. So you'd have to do some tinkering yourself.

Yeah elementalists work but I really like EA champ more. I can just afk maps and faceroll. Main diff is I dont think theres much you can do to scale EA champ past 100 divs or so.

I know the meta one is INQ and it's also the one you can make the strongest via Mana RF with big investment
But I sort of dislike Fire Trap and I wanted to try Chieftain version that uses Divine Ire which I see a lot of poe ninja, but everyone tells me Chieftain sucks a lot
But if that doesn't work, I can always switch into jugg and it will probably still be a good build that... probably has enough power to get 24-36 challenges done?

800k is pretty low tbh, depending on mal tier. Different mobs have different types of defenses. If you meet one that happens to have really good defenses versus your already rather low DPS type, then it can happen that you can’t kill mobs sometimes. That’s is okay and happens almost all builds at the start of their gearing process. Just accept it, move on from that mob and keep pushing your gear so it happens less and less until eventually never

You get 2 wildwood points by first interacting with the tutor npc.

After a while you get a quest for them to farm a certain amount of specific wildwoods mob. This is the first quest and will give you another 2 points upon completion.

The 2nd quest will task you to slay a specific mini-boss. There aren't any tricks in spawning them other than following the rigth colored wisps and hope for the best. This quest will be given after you complete the first, or after you reach a certain level threshold. You can have multiple wildwood quests of the same color active at the same time.

The last quest is to kill the map boss, which I have yet to accomplish.

Apparently the Champion builds (Splitting Steel, CF, EA) did pretty well even against the league mechanic pre-nerfs due to their general tankiness. LA/TS continued to be good if a bit flimsy. Hexblast Sabo was still good. TR/SA/CA PF apparently very good. Boneshatter did fine.

I'm far from a build expert but I don't see all four working on a build. But both pairs of mods work together for some builds. No phys reflect and end charge chance is good for melee. Totem taunt and proj damage with distance is good for some ballista builds. So don't check all four together - no build values all four mods, sadly

My mistake - totem taunt is also good for melee builds, because they often use ancestral totems. So check the price of no phys reflect, totem taunt and endurance charge chance. It could make you some good divs.
