Following the second engine performance patch - the first follow up patch to the engine patch - whenever I zoomed out my delve map it would auto crash the client and generally I had to have been loaded into the game for a while to achieve a smooth experience without lightning disco and choppy slide shows on high density maps.
So improving that is a win. I think it'll still take a bit. Engine updates, from what I'm beginning to understand, are a huge mess until they are not. E: comma.

You're basically always solo anyway, so it doesn't matter that much. look at the skills, pick one you like, and then find a guide if you don't want to work it out solo.
You can pretty much make anything work on any class if you really want to, some things are just a lot easier on certain classes.
like witch makes selfcasting spells pretty easy, but you could do it on marauder if you really wanted to.

Sure. Just watch the different immunities you choose when blowing up remnants. You can brick the expedition quickly if you don’t pay attention. But the clear should be fine.
And it’s not just immune to lightning, if you’re crit based, make sure you don’t pick crit immune. Stuff like that.

You can always switch ascendancies and builds. But it can be a pain to swap points around on your skill tree. Sometimes it’s better to just reroll another ranger for the deadeye ascendancy instead. Just depends on your currencies and level of patience.
I leveled three different rangers last league. Once you get the leveling portion down it’s very quick to reroll

This game is hard. The first league I tried I got demotivated big time. I tried again the next time and it went better and better and so on. It’s probably one of my favorite games of all time. It’s also the reason d4 was such a let down. Just to spoiled with Poe. The complexity is insane but it is a fun process to learn.

Not all build creators do step by step guides. However check the notes in the pob, usually a lot of guides there. If it’s a YouTube video check the notes to see if there is a forum post attached. You can always use max roll if you want or poevault. They have pretty detailed written instructions

Off the top of my head, you get free explosions on occultist as well as an extra curse. Pf probably relies on an item to give explosions though I haven’t played that version. Only ID occy last league which was busted strong.

When you look at a guide and the pob for it, go into the config portion. If they have ridiculous buffs checked to inflate numbers then it’s a bad guide. Or if it’s full of the chase uniques like mageblood or the like, probably bad guide or at least not league starter friendly.
If it’s your first league or even second, stick to the major creators. They are mostly all safe and tested league start capable.

Zizaran also has his Poe university series. While not all of it still applies there are tons of basics that are covered that can really help
Just remember. You WILL struggle with something in this game. I have a decent chunk invested about 3800 hours and I learn new stuff all the time.

Out of those two I'd recommend toxic rain. It has a simpler time scaling damage and a very smooth playstyle of you like dots. It also ramps well into endgame because chaos damage scales like crazy

standard TR PF is gonna focus on just you casting your ability. Balista builds are going to either have you summon ballistas that shoot toxic rain for you, or incorporate ballistas that shoot when you shoot

i cycle attacker totems by dashing around em
even i get stuned i have 3 giant life flasks , seed of shaper , that %4 life regen on low life and steelskin
